"Hey I'm getting on the plane right now so I'll have to call you back," I tell Erin.

"Alright, just let me know when you land."

"Will do. Bye."

"Bye." I hang up then turn to Kian.

A look of longing is in his eyes.

"I'll be back by tomorrow night. It want be that long."

"Yeah but you just got home," he says.

"I know but Erin needs me."

"I love you," he says.

"Love you too."

"Last call for flight 546 to Anchorage, Alaska," the lady on the intercom says.

I give Kian a kiss then make my way onto the plane. Truthfully by now I thought I would've been sick of riding on a plane so much, but I actually like it. It's kind of soothing and you get to see the world from a higher perspective.

I pull out my headphones and listen to some music. The flight isn't extremely long but it's still two hours. By the time I land it's already around 1:00.

"Hey I just landed. What's the address?" I ask Erin over the phone.

"20 Rosewood Drive."

"Alright I'll be there in a little while."

"Ok."

I make my way outside. The air is cold and brisk. Never have I felt so cold. I quickly climb into a taxi and tell the driver the address of Erin and Jc's house. It only takes about 10 minutes until we pull up to a large house that I've seen only in the pictures Erin had showed me. I pay the taxi driver then grab my things and knock on the front door.

"Thank god you're here," Erin says as she hugs me.

"Well I wasn't just going to leave you here to die," I tell her.

She starts to walk inside so I follow behind her. The house is amazing. There's high arching ceilings and wide spacious windows on almost every wall.

"This place is gorgeous," I say.

"Thanks."

"So when's the flight back to LA?" She asks.

"Not until tomorrow night. I think it's around 5:00."

"What's that?" Erin says as she points her slender finger at my hand bearing the ring.

"The ring," I say with a smile as I hold my hand up.

"I thought you said no?"

"I did, but I thought about what you and my mom said and you guys were right. I was just scared."

"So you're getting married?" She questions.

"Yeah."

"Congrats," she says with a smile. She walks over to a cabinet in the kitchen and pulls out a bottle of some kind of alcohol.

"Don't you think this is a little odd time to celebrate?" I ask.

"Look, you're getting married and I'm not ruining your newly engaged happiness so we're celebrating no matter the situation we're in right now."

"Fine, but you know I don't like alcohol." Though I did turn 21 this year I rarely ever drink. I just never liked the taste of it.

"Just trust me you'll like this."

She gets out two champagne glasses and pops the cork off of the bottle.

"So what is this?" I ask.

"It's peach flavored champagne."

"Doesn't sound that bad."

"Here you go," she says as she pushes the glass towards me.

"Thanks."

She lifts up her glass. "To your engagement," she says.

I tap my glass against hers and take a sip. The champagne bubbles as it goes down my throat, but only the taste of peach lingers in my mouth.

"So what do you think?" She asks.

"Pretty good."

"Finally. It's about time I got you to like some kind of alcohol."

I let out a little laugh.

"Next step is to get you drunk."

"That won't be happening," I assure.

"Oh loosen up a bit. Have some fun."

"I am having fun."

"You need a serious adjustment if you classify this as fun. You're helping your friend try to fix her relationship, because her husband ran away to Texas with their child and stole all her money."

"Ok you're right about that, but still there's hope."

"Hope for what?" She asks.

"That Jc overreacted. That everything's going to be alright."

"Everything isn't going to be alright though," she says.

"What were you and Jc even fighting about?" I ask.

"He thinks I'm cheating on him."

"But you aren't. Everything's fine I'll just get Kian to talk to him and calm him."

She just looks at me as a tear falls down her cheek.

"You aren't are you?" I questions.

She slowly nods her head as the tears fall faster and she lowers her head.
