"I got her," Jc says as he walks in the room a couple minutes later.
"Alrighty," I say handing her over.
"So how are you feeling about this whole thing?" He asks.
"I really wish you guys wouldn't go. I've always been so close to Erin and ever since we moved out here you and I have become pretty good friends as well. But I'm sure going to miss this little cutie too," I say as I tickle Copeland. She lets out a little laugh.
"I know what you mean. Alaska seems like a pretty cool place though," Jc says.
"Yeah It's always been a place that Erin wanted to go to. I'm just going to miss you guys a lot."
"Yeah. We'll miss you guys a lot too."
I give him a smile. "Well I think Erin needs some help. I better get out there."
I walk back out to the living room and into the kitchen. I find Erin wrapping up glasses and plates.
"Need some help?"
"Sure," she says.
"So you ready for all this?" I ask as I grab a plate and some bubble wrap.
"I guess," she shrugs.
"I thought you've always wanted to live in Alaska though."
"Yeah but. I don't know. I just feel like we're leaving everything behind."
"Yeah I understand. That's how I felt when we first moved out here, but look where we are now."
"True, but think of all the shit that happened," she reminds.
"You got a point there. So when are you guys planning on leaving?"
"Probably tomorrow night after Ashley and Connor get back."
"I see." I grab a glass wrap it then place it in a box.
"Oh my gosh Annie! Come look at this," I hear Kian say as he laughs.
I set down the plate I was about to wrap and walk out to the living room.
"What?"
I see him hold up a framed picture of when Erin and I were in the fourth grade.
"Oh god. Where'd you even find that," I say laughing.
"It was in this box of old pictures," he says pointing to a box on the floor.
Erin walks in and I hold up the picture.
"Remember this?" I ask.
"I completely forgot about that," she says with a laugh.
In the picture Erin and I are riding an elephant. It was taken at some circus we had gone to with my mom.
I start to laugh at how stupid our faces look in it.
"Remember how scared I was to go do that?" I ask.
"Yeah. And I had to make you do it."
"You were scared to ride an elephant?" Kian says laughing at me.
"Shut up!" I say slapping his arm. "I was a child that had many fears. I always thought of the worse case scenario."
"And what might that worse case scenario be?" he questions.
"Well. The trainer person could've lost control of it and it could've done that thing where it tips up on it's back feet and we fall off."
"You were strapped in," he says dryly.
"Well then he could've lost control of it, then it ran out of the tent and we'd be stuck on it."
"You were a messed up kid," Kian laughs.
"I know I was. At least I admit it though."
