"It's about time you came back," Erin says as she gives me a hug.
"Yeah, I have to admit San Diego was nice though."
"So I'm guessing you heard about what happened with Jc and I?" She asks.
"Yeah Ashley called and told me the other day."
"We applied for the divorce today," she says.
"I'm sorry it didn't work out."
"It's fine, there's plenty of fish in the sea," she says.
"What's with people and fish lately?" I question.
"What?" She gives me a confused look.
"Never mind. Something Sam said."
"Ohh. By the way you might want to turn around," she says with a big grin.
She walks into the living room so I turn around. Kian's down on one knee.
"I know that when I first proposed things didn't really go as planned so I thought I'd give it another go."
I laugh. In his hands he holds the ring box.
"Annie?" He asks.
"Yes?"
"Will you marry me?" He opens the box and the familiar ring glistens in the light.
"Of course I will," I say smiling.
He stands up and takes the ring out of the box, then slides it onto my finger. He grabs me around the waist and lifts me up. I wrap my legs around him and rest my arms on his shoulders then kiss him. He pulls away and I rest my forehead against his.
"I love you more than anything," he whispers.
Butterflies fill my stomach. I take a deep breath and his scent fills my nose just as I had remembered it. Body wash, hair gel, and just a hint of cologne.
"I love you too," I whisper back.
