Chapter thirteen:
Later that day, the students engaged in practising Hado, offensive spells in Kido. I wasn’t a person for Kido. I was quite good at Kido but I never had to use it much.
I spotted Renji next to Kira. He finally turned up for this class. They were both practicing Kido. Kira was amazing and he was the only one who was succeeding in this class. Renji was failing miserably. Every time he tried to conjure a spell, it would blast off, leaving him covered in smokes. People were laughing a lot at him. He didn’t see me because he was very concentrated in what he was doing.
Aizen and Gin suddenly appeared to inspect the class. The tutor stopped everyone and introduced them to the class. Everyone was suddenly oblivious to the fact that I was standing there as well. All eyes were on Aizen and Gin. Gin spotted me and gave me a huge smile.
I quickly left before everyone’s attention turned to me.
Two Months later:
As time passed by, I was running out of things to do since Toshiro basically did all my paperwork and my duties. Most of the only things I had to do were attend captains’ meetings. I spent so much more time with Byakuya. Things were perfect when I was with him. Of course, we were meeting in secret. No one but Gin knows that we were seeing each other.
Today, the first year students were sent to the world of living for a training session in Konso. They were being led by Hisagi Shuhei. I was going to lead them but I refused and thought that it would be a better idea to let Hisagi have some experience.
I had a sinking feeling in my stomach, like the feeling someone was in need.
I decided to check up on the first years to see if they were all right.
As I arrived in Konso, I sensed the some of the students’ reiatsu. But not only theirs, a hollow’s too. I flash-stepped quickly and made my way towards the reiatsu. I saw Renji, Kira, Hisagi and Momo Hinamori fighting against a huge hollow. They had just destroyed the hollow and was congratulating themselves. I sensed that something was not right.
Their victory only lasted for a few seconds when hundreds of other hollows appeared before. I had to draw my sword. There were too many of them to kill with my fists alone, and it would take too long.
I drew my sword quickly. “Born and be untouchable, Hogoshaka!” I yelled.
I waved my sword once and a huge wave of fire erupted from my sword, eliminating all hollows at once. All four of them stared at me awestruck. I still held my sword as I knew more of them were coming. Aizen and Gin suddenly appeared as more hollows came to view. They quickly destroyed them effortlessly.
I knew no more was coming so I sheathed my sword. Bet you loved that didn’t you? I thought. Finally, you used me. I didn’t think you’d ever use me again. But against hollows? Come on, even you know I am stronger than that, Hotaru said. There were loads. I needed to kill them as fast as I could.
I walked towards them. I looked at Renji. He was staring at me non-stop.
“Oneesan?” he muttered. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him tightly.
The others were looking at us with questioned looks. Gin was smiling broadly at me.
“Renji,” I said.
“It’s been ages, oneesan,” he told me. Momo gasped.
“She’s your big sister?” Kira asked.
“That’s right,” Renji said as I let go of him. “My big sister’s a strong captain. Did you see how she killed all those hollows with one stroke of her sword?” he boasted.
I laughed and ruffled his hair with my hand.
“We should have our little reunion back in Soul society. We should leave now,” Aizen suggested.
