Chapter twenty-one: Teal and empty
An Arrancar is a Hollow that has removed its mask and gained Shingami-like powers. Aizen had begun to create several Arrancars using the power of the Hogyoku. I now wore a jacket that covers the lower part of my face and downward, towards my waist. A hood was also attached to the jacket. I had a long wide skirt on that reached toward my feet. A black sash was around my waist that held my zanpakuto.
Hueco Mundo was cold and bare. It was always night and I’d wander about with a silence hanging in the air. Tonight however, it was different. I strolled along, conscious of my surroundings. Then I heard a crack. I advanced towards the sound and looked around. There was a white tree with many sharp spines. Beneath it was a figure lying. It looked like a Hollow that had just removed his mask. His Hollow hole was located on the base of his throat and the remainder of his mask lies on top of his head, forming a broken horned helmet.
I then immediately went to Aizen and told him to recruit him into the Espada. I knew he would turn out to be strong, since I sensed his strong spiritual pressure.
About two weeks later:
I stared around my blank room in Las Noches. It was mainly white, like everything else in Hueco Mundo and it has a single bed in the corner. There is a mirror by the door and a white end table next to my bed, with a vase full of red flowers. Once a week, an arrancar would come in and change the flowers following Gin’s orders in trying to cheer me up. There was also a bathroom attached and that was the only place I would ever take of my mask and hood. My room had quite a large window with a ledge on it. Teal-like curtains covered the window. I’d usually sit on the ledge and stare at the fake sky above. Aizen designed my room so that while I wasn’t in it, no one could enter besides me.
I untied my zanpkauto from my waist and placed it gently on my bed. I then walked out of my room, and closed the door. The halls in Las Noches were bare and endless. Unaware of where my feet were taking me, I walked on. I kept my head low. Without warning, my head bumped into something hard. I looked up and saw teal eyes staring back at me.
His expression seemed to be in a frown but his eyes seemed soft. Teal lines descended from his eyes, which makes him look like he was crying. He looked familiar in a way but I couldn’t make out where I saw him.
“Hello, sorry I didn’t see you there,” I said.
“That’s all right, Aojirohonō-sama,” he said, expressionless.
“Call me Akari,” I said. “What is your name?”
“Ulquiorra Cifer,” he replied.
“I’ll see you soon, then,” I said. He left without another word. As I turned a corner, a blue-haired Espada greeted me with a grimace. I frowned and ignored him.
“Well, if it isn’t Aizen’s little princess,” he taunted. This man’s name was Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. He pisses me off the most out of all the people here.
I frowned, “What is it you need?”
“I challenge you to a duel, to prove that males will always be stronger than females,” he smirked and snarled. Grimmjow is the sixth Espada. His blue hair is short and messy. The remains of his mask cover half of his lips and they were the shape of huge teeth. And he was always looking for an excuse to fight me.
