“I made it in time,” a voice said. “Aizen…Gin,” it acknowledged.
“Rangiku,” I said, losing my grin, my expression forming into a straight face. Tears welled up in her eyes but they didn’t spill.
“Who are you girl?!” The funny looking man pointed at Rangiku. “It’s dangerous, this is no place for a girl like you to be! Civilians should stay back.”
“Run away,” Rangiku ordered sternly, forcing that funny-looking man to leave. I sighed. “I said, I’ll stop them, so you people run this instance!”
“W-what are you talking about girl?” The man stammered. Stopping him from saying anything else, Rangiku grabbed his face with her hand.
“Shut up already!” she yelled, agitated. “Stop jabbering and carry those kids on your back and run! Do you want me to rip off that mustache, burn your hat and grind those weird shades into your face until no-one will recognize you?!” she threatened.
He threw his hands back in defeat as Rangiku let him go. He carried the body on the ground that had fainted and said, “R-roger that! I’ll leave this place to you girl. But,” he turned around and faced us. “If you ever find yourself in danger, call a hero! Call out, ‘Save me, Don…” Out of patience, Rangiku hurled a can into his face.
“Ouch!” he exclaimed. “Wait, no that didn’t hurt! Farewell!” With that he took off with the bodies.
“By ‘making it in time’, were you referring to saving those humans?” Aizen asked. “Or were you referring to me destroying Karakura Town and creating the Ouken?” Rangiku didn’t answer. “Well, either way, you were wrong.”
Rangiku didn’t respond. “What’s the matter? Do you find it hard to talk to me?” Aizen said.
“Captain Aizen, please forgive my former acquaintance,” I began, turning towards Rangiku’s way. My eyes were like slits, squinted shut like usual. “I’ll take her away.”
“I don’t mind, I have time,” Aizen assured me. “You’re welcome to talk at length with her there.”
“But we would be in your way,” I insisted.
“Not at all,” Aizen smirked.
I kicked off the ground and lunged myself to Rangiku, grabbing her. I launched into the air.
“Let go of me!” Rangiku commanded. She wriggled and broke free out of my grasp. She plummeted to land on a roof. I landed some distance away from her.
Rangiku was shaking slightly, struggling to keep her composure.
“You’re staggering, why’d you come?” I asked, grinning like usual.
“I lost track of your spiritual pressure, so I took the Senkaimon to get the jump on you,” she replied. “After all, I had a better grasp of where the real Karakura Town was transported.”
I exhaled. “I didn’t ask how you got here. I want to know why you came here in your shaky condition,” I told her, grinning with my lips closed.
