The silence was eerie. A group of creatures lay collapsed upon the ground. Some were awake, sitting by a table. They were in a cave, which had an uncanny aura to it. A candles illuminated the walls, although an enormous amount of it was obscure and in shadows. A creature that looks like a cat, although she had a humanoid form, was sitting on an edge, rocking her legs. She had a tail, cat ears and pink fur over her body.

“Hey,” she cried in exasperation, kicking off the ground and landing with a thud. “How long do we have to stay here?” She stretched and yawned. “I’m so bored,” she complained. “I’m going outside.” Her voice echoed and bounced upon the walls.

A figure moved behind her and approached her. She was dressed in white and light blue clothes. Her hair was long and lavender, tied into a partial bun in the back. She wore a kimono, with a large purple bow on the back. “Please don’t.” Her voice was soft and somewhat comforting, a voice that had enormous powers of persuasion. “We’re still missing a few people.”

The girl who was complaining earlier scoffed. “A few, huh? How many people are coming anyway?”

“Well, I don’t know,” she replied.

A toned dark man with long black hair cackled loudly. “Who cares how many come?! I can handle this on my own!”

“Shut up! There’s no rush,” someone said.

A fairy-like creature flickered past. It had a large stinger like weapon. She appeared to have a slight glow. “Seriously! Ladies don’t like men who rush things,” she squeaked.

The door to the cave opened with a loud thud and a figure stepped in. His footsteps echoed across the cave. A small girl dressed in traditional Japanese clothing approached him. “Welcome back,” she greeted.

The figure wore a long white robe. The man was tall with pale skin and dark brown hair. His eyes were circled by purple masks. Two other people followed behind him. “They’re our new friends,” The man with the long white robe said, gesturing to the two that followed behind him. “Look after them.” He placed a hand on the little girl’s shoulder and walked past.

One of the men had long wild, teal hair with an icy blue cross over his face. The other had shaggy white hair, and he wore an orange shirt and black pants. He had a red jacket on him and casually had his hands in his pockets.

The fairy-like creature fluttered by the girl. “They’re kind of hot,” she exclaimed.

“Hey,” the cat-like girl called out to the man with the long robe. “How long do we have to stay down here?”

“Remain patient just a while longer,” he replied. He then faced her. “Our comrades shall all awaken soon.” He approached her.

“But!” she insisted but stopped when the man held out his hand in front of her face. His finger nails were long and he dropped his hand. He stared intently at the girl and merely said, “The shinigami’s era is drawing to a close.”
