[Jinxx's POV]
Some time passed and it has been really great. Melody has been a great girl and her and Alice get along great. Alice even volunteered to give her some ballet tips since Melody was interested in taking dance classes, while I home schooled her in violin.
I had also been looking into signing her up for school. She's a little nervous, since according to her used to homeschooling in the orphanage, so I'm gonna make sure she's in a good school.
"Excellent, Melody," I smiled as she finished the song I instructed her to play, which she did flawlessly.
I smiled and nodded. "Thank you," she said as she curtsied a little.
"Now, let's take a break and practice some keys a bit. Good?" I asked as Alice walked in.
"Okay," she smiled as she turned to put her little violin away.
Her birthday is coming around the corner, next week. Maybe I should get her a new more professional violin. She might like that. Maybe a custom made one.
"You sounded great, you two," Alice smiled as I put mine away.
"Thanks, babe," I smiled as we shared a quick kiss and then noticed she held some envelopes.
"Oh, yeah, I got the mail," she said, handing it to me.
"Oh thanks," I said, and took a look at it.
It was mostly bills and junk mail when I spotted one envelope...
Hollywood Walk-In Clinic
"Jeremy?" Alice asked, knowing I froze.
I looked up at her and then at Melody who noticed that I looked trouble.
"The results are here," I said.
She looked a bit worried and gulped as we all looked at and then I took a deep breath as I grabbed the letter opener from nearby and tore the envelope open.
"Melody, come here," I said, putting down the letter opener before holding y hand out to her.
She meekly approached me and held my hand.
"Whatever this letter says, you are still my kid," I said. "I'm not taking you back to the orphanage even if I'm forced to. You're a Ferguson now."
She smiled shyly, then nodded. "Okay..."
I nodded before I proceeded to read the results, Alice giving Melody a hug to help relax her as I read through it. Considering Vicky wasn't around, it wasn't easy, but they did fine
Alleged Mother's name: Hayes, Victoria Darlene (No sample received)
Child's name: Ferguson, Melody Antoinette (sample received)
Alleged Father's Name: Ferguson, Jeremy Miles (sample received)
Some numbers and percentages were listed below from the blood works and DNA sample, but then I read the conclusion: Positive match.
So its true... Melody really is my daughter, blood and all.
"Well?" Alice asked, making me look up to see Alice and Melody waiting.
I took a deep breath and smiled. "Positive match," I said. "You are without a doubt my daughter."
Melody's smile grew almost ear to ear as she rushed forward and hugged me, and I hugged her back, Alice smiling at us.
"I promise, I'm going to do my best to be the parent you deserve," I said.
"I trust you," She smiled as we hugged, and then let Alice join us in the hug before going ahead to have a celebratory lunch, just the three of us, for now since I know the guys will want us to celebrate.
