Some time passed before we became a family of four.

It took a few days before Alice and Miles were finally able to come home, but Alice was on strict bed rest due to some slight blood loss, but she is recovering well.

Miles is thankfully so far an easy baby and spends most of his days sleeping and eating.

Right now, Tahlia and I were just getting home to school with Rupert who drove us home since he got his license.

"We're home!" I called out as we walked in.

"Hey sweetheart, in the living room!" I heard my father call out.

We hang our bags on the dining room chairs before heading into the living room, seeing my parents were there, Alice rested on the couch with a blanket and my father sitting on a mat with baby Miles in his bassinet as he played his acoustic guitar.

"How is he?" I smiled as we sat around him.

"Fussed a little bit for his bath, but was pretty calm the rest of the day," Dad smiled. "He actually recognizes when I play guitar and he likes it."

We laughed softly as we peered over, Miles resting comfortably in his bassinet, wearing a grey onsie, a blue baby hat, and his soother in his mouth as he started at me, Tahlia and Rupert curiously.

"Hey Miles," Rupert greeted as he tickled him a little, making Miles softly giggle.

We laughed as we decided to do homework in the living room, when Miles started to fuss and whimper.

"I think he's hungry, here," Mom said, motioning over as she unbutton her shirt.

"Should I step out, or....?" Rupert asked.

"Its alright, she's just feeding him," I assured. "Just don't stare, of course."

He nodded and continued his math homework as Mom got Miles settled and eating.

"I'll go get us all something to drink," I said.

"Thanks, sweetheart," Dad said as I got up and headed to the kitchen.

I then took a moment and turned around, admiring the scene before me, at the people I have with me right at this very moment and couldn't help but smile.

My father. My mother. My baby brother. My girlfriend. My best friend.

Three years ago, I was an young orphan playing violin on the roofs, longing for a family I could love and cherish, with so many questions about my life, and the lifelong feeling of dread and loneliness I've grown up with.

Now, I have a large family that I care for and cares for me, friends who love and accept me, a partner who loves and supports me and I her and who I feel I have a future with, and even a career in music and arts.

Fourteen year old me would have probably never imagined being here at this very moment. I only wish I can tell her that she does find what she always wished for.

"Melody... Everything okay?" My father asked, and everyone looked up as I'm pulled form my thoughts.

I just smiled. "Yes... Just... Feeling thankful," I answered honestly.

Everyone looked at each other before smiling at me before I turned.

I will always be grateful for the life I have been given.
