PROLOGUE

The most interesting thing about heart transplants is that one completely loses his own

heart and becomes replaced with someone else's yet still has feelings for the same person

he/she loves. This proves that love works in the minds of people and not in their hearts.

Bottom line is  that love is a state of mind.  You'll learn how to forget only if you try doing

so.”

– Dr. Preston Burke, Grey’s Anatomy.

Prologue.

It was on the cold month of November, when I was born. Kasi naman I seldom speak and I always play on my own. Pero when I grew up, nagkabaliktad kasi I’ve become so loud and sociable. Ako ata si Miss Congeniality. I do have a lot of friends though hindi ko alam kung kaibigan nga ba yung iba.

From elementary up to my high school years, I gained a lot of friends and I’ve taken care of my reputation sa school fairly well. Both the opposite gender loved my company. Masarap daw kasi ako kasama. Maingay at bungisngis. But little they did know na, it was all just my superficial characteristic.  Hopeless romantic kasi ako e. And I don’t want others to know it besides my bestfriend.

“Then why don’t you try on College of St. Pio (CSP)?  Some of my friend told me na pagdating sa mga computer course, advance sila. Kung di lang ako Medicine, dun ako papasok.”

“Sounds good. Sige po, I’ll try to inquire there”

“Alright. Update mo lang ako para matawagan ko sila Mom at Dad so that makapag-remit na tayo ng pang tuition mo for your college.”

“Punta na lang ako dun the day after tomorrow.”

Nasa abroad kasi sila Mom and Dad para magwork so that makapag-aral kami ni Ate sa magandang school. Graduating student na si Ate Iya sa University of the Philippines College of Medicine. I really admire my sister kasi understanding sya at maalaga. She acts like my second Mom kaya kahit nasa abroad sila Mom, hindi ako masyado nalulungkot.

Yellow diamonds in the lights

Now I’m standing side by side.

“Hello?”

“Hello Bex!”

“Uy Bex. Ano punta na tayo sa CSP? Sunduin mo na ko dito. I’ll wait for you at Starbucks sa baba. Coffee lang muna ako.”
