Hindi ako mapakali sa labas ng operating room. Kasalukuyan na kasing ginagawa ang major open heart surgery kay Ishi. Hindi rin ako pinayagan ni Mario na mag-scrub in dahil baka maging problema lang daw ang presence ko sa loob.
Mahirap na. *sigh*
I had to set aside my professional career because of my sister’s current situation. Alam kong kailangan niya ako as a sister rather than me being a doctor.
“Iya, anak. Calm down. I know your baby sister can make it.” Hinawakan ako sa kamay ni Mom niya saka pinaupo.
“Our princess is a fighter.” Sabi naman ni Dad habang nakaupo sa isang sulok.
(LEE’S POV)
Kasalukuyan kaming nasa private jet papuntang Amanpulo Resort ni Mama. Nakakasuka yung pakiramdam. Hindi ko to nararamdaman dahil nakasakay ako sa eroplano pero dahil wala akong magawa sa mga kagustuhan ng old woman na nasa tabi ko.
Bigla kong naalala ang paguusap namin ni Mama last week pagkatapos ng incident sa Papa ni Ishi.
“See, I told you so that you have no future from that good for nothing woman. I don’t care if she’s the son of a Berenguer. As long as she has no benefit from our empire then she’s just a piece of trash.”
Nakaramdam ako ng galit sa mga sinabi niya laban kay Ishi. Wala akong pakialam kung nanay ko po siya o sino pa mang poncio pilato. She have no right to talk shit against anyone. “What do you need from me?! I’ve already distanced myself from them!”
“I want you to cut all ties from them completely. I want you to marry the daughter of Hashimoto Industries. The engagement will be held soon.”
“WHAAAT!” Are you F*CKING kidding me? Why would I marry someone I don’t even love?!”
“Actually, I really don’t care if there’s love or none. As long as it’s from a giant business partner, then so be it. You have to do this son. Or else I will crush the lives of those dear to you including that filthy, stupid girlfriend of yours!”
“NO! There will be no engagement! This will not ever happen!” Paalis na sana si ako ng opisina ng bigla niyang hinagis sa tabi ko ang wine glass na hawak niya kanina.
“TRY TO WALK OUT THAT DOOR OR I WILL BRING WRAT UNTO THEM! You’ve been warned, son. YOU KNOW ME. YOU KNOW HOW I DESTROY SOMEONE’S LIFE EASILY.” Biglang naalala ni Lee ang pagmamakaawa ng Dad ni Ishi sa kanya.
“UGH.” I can’t make up my mind. I don’t want to lose the woman I love yet I don’t want to hurt her. “ALRIGHT! But, if this engagement succeed and I am to marry, I’ll divorce her after a year.”
“HAHAHAHA! That’s a very wise decision, son.”
Pero bago ako tuluyang lumabas ay nagbitiw ako ng mga salitang matagal ko na ring kinikimkim. “You know, Ma. I’m already tired of hating you. Sana dumating yung oras na maging isang mabuti ka namang INA sa akin. That you will stop all this miserable things and will treat me like the son you once had. I may not be, Kuya but I’m still your son. Just once is enough. Just once.”
Napansin kong nanlaki ang mga mata niya sa sinabi ko. Sa unang pagkakataon ay nag-react ng ganun si Mama.
“We’ll be in the airport for a minute.” Sabi ng chauffer namin.
