Esmeralda's POV- August 2016

"What's next on your list"

"Cereal" I said.

I pushed the shopping cart down an aisle and looked at Alyssa.

"What kind of cereal do you usually eat?"

"Special K, the one with Strawberries" I told her.

"Cereals are made from processed grain and they have so much sugar"

"I don't eat it everyday" I defended.

"You eat it every other day though"

I turned away from her and began looking for the cereal box.

"Let me eat my granola bars and cereal in peace" I said.

I made a face when I realized the cereal I wanted was in the highest shelf. I reached out and sighed when I realized that I couldn't reach it.

"You're mean" I told her as she laughed at me.

She glanced up at the cereal.

"You're a whole 3 inches taller and you're laughing instead of helping me" I stated.

"You don't really need cereal"

Alyssa was double majoring in Kinesiology and Nutrition.

"I want it though" I told her.

I sighed and stood on my tippytoes in hopes I could somehow knock down a box.

"Let me help you with that"

I glanced up as a body hovered over me, and grabbed two boxes of cereal.

"Here you go"

"Thank you" I told him as he handed me a box.

He smiled and shrugged.

"No problem, great choice of cereal by the way"

"I could say the same thing to you" I said as I placed the cereal in the shopping cart.

He chuckled and placed the box of cereal into his shopping cart.

"Thanks again" I added.

He nodded and made his way out of the aisle with an older man. I hissed as I felt a sting on my arm.

"Oww" I said looking at Elisa.

She looked at me with wide eyes.

"That was Auston Matthews"

"Who?" I asked.

She frowned.

"How do you not know who Auston Matthews is?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Should I know who he is?" I asked.

"Yes! Everyone in Toronto knows who he is"

"Apparently I am a nobody" I said as I smiled.

"You know what I mean"

I shrugged.

"He was drafted 1st overall at this year's NHL draft"

"Oh, that's cool" I said.

She frowned.

"You literally had Auston Matthews help you and that's your response?"

I nodded slowly and shrugged.

"Do you consider me a normal person?" I asked.

She raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I do, why wouldn't I?"

"I'm a 2 time olympic medalist" I stated.

"It's different though"

"It is not" i told her.

"Ok, have you ever met someone famous that you idolize?"

I nodded.

"Who?"

"Jon Stewart" I answered.

She sighed and shook her head.

"Hockey players here in Toronto are about as famous as a celebrity is in Hollywood"

I shrugged.

"He was nice, let's move on" I said.

I pushed the shopping cart and pulled out my list.

"But"

"Moving on" I emphasized.
