Can't Help || Auston Matthews

Ch. 27

Esmeralda's POV- October 2016

I reached for my ringing phone as Auston groaned and turned away from me. I sat up when I saw it was a facetime call from Kyla. I answered the call as I stood up and made my way out of the room.

"Kyla, it's 9AM here" I said as I closed the door behind me.

"Well it's 6AM here, and you promised you'd answer my calls"

I nodded.

"I'm going to mute you because I need to pee" I told her.

"Alright, I'll talk then"

I opened the bathroom door and set my phone on the bathroom sink as I turned on the light.

"Campus looks so creepy right now"

I could faintly hear her footsteps and breathing.

"I had two midterms this past week, and I think I did fairly well. The notes you gave me are helping a lot, so thanks for that"

I flushed the toilet and unmuted her.

"Are you coming home for Thanksgiving?"

"No" I answered.

She groaned.

"Why not?"

"I'll be home the 2nd week of December" I told her.

"That's so far"

I laughed.

"Sorry about that" I said as I washed my hands.

"Well at least you're having fun"

I opened the door and made my way to the kitchen.

"Are you the only one awake?"

I nodded and peaked her into the living room where George was fast asleep on the couch. He slept like the dead, so I had nothing to worry about.

"I'm so tired, I don't want to go for a run"

I laughed.

"Don't laugh at my misery"

She sighed.

"Who's giving you a ride?" I asked.

"Jo is supposed to pick me up"

"That's cool" I said.

"I miss your french toast"

I smiled.

"When I get back, I'll make you some" I promised.

"Alright, so I see Jo"

"Well I'm glad I was able to accompany you on your walk" I stated.

She laughed and I glanced up when I heard footsteps.

"I figured you'd want to sleep in" I told Auston.

He scrunched up his nose as he yawned.

"I wanted to, but my phone woke me up"

I looked at Auston and laughed.

"You have bed hair" I said as he pushed his hair back.

"Not all of us wake up looking pretty"

I looked at the screen of my phone when I heard a throat clear.

"Hi person who's voice I do not recognize"

I smiled at Auston who raised an eyebrow.

"Kyla" I told him.

He nodded and leaned down a bit so he could fit in the screen with me.

"Hi Kyla"

Kyla gasped.

"He knows my name!"

I smiled as Auston waved.

"Kyla, this is Auston" I said.

"Your boyfriend?"

I laughed as Auston poked me a bit as he looked down at me and wiggled his eyebrows.

"Yeah" I told Kyla who squealed.

Auston turned his attention away from the screen when he heard a groan come from the living room.

"Since when!?"

"Almost two weeks ago" I answered.

I smiled as Jo and Kyla squealed earning another groan from George.

"I'll call you later?" I asked.

Kyla nodded.

"It was nice to meet you Auston!"

Auston smiled.

"You must be Jordyn"

Jo smiled.

"She talks about us?"

Auston nodded.

"Of course, you're two of her close friends"

"I'll call you two later" I promised.

Kyla and Jo smiled.

"Yeah, call when you're free"

I smiled and waved.

"Miss you!"

"Miss you guys too, bye" I said.

I ended the call and made my way into the living room. Auston was sitting on the couch next to George.

"Some of the guys want to go out for breakfast, but I don't want to go"

"They can come over" I stated.

George nodded.

"Tell them to bring food because what we've got is enough for the 3 of us"

Auston handed George his phone.

"Text them what to bring"

I looked at George who looked up at me.

"French toast?"

I nodded and he began typing on Auston's phone.

"Tell them to bring coffee" I called out as I made my way to the kitchen.

It was time to cook up a feast
