Ch. 41

Auston's POV- December 2016

"What time do you have practice?"

I watched as George flipped the pancake and turned to look at me.

"Nine" I answered.

He nodded and looked back at the pancakes.

"Its just us 3, right?"

"Yup" I said.

The guys and their girlfriends/wives said goodbye to Esmeralda and George last night. No one was going to show up and interupt the little bit of time I had left with Esme.

"I didn't make much, I figured you wouldn't have much of an appetite"

"You are correct there" I stated.

George placed the pancake on a plate and handed it to me just as Esmeralda stepped into the living room.

"Just in time, breakfast is served"

She smiled and took the plate he was handing her. He placed a plate of food on the counter and grabbed the two pans he had been using.

"I can wash them later" I told him.

"It's alright, there's still time"

I looked at Esmeralda who smiled at me.

"So I was talking with my dad and he agreed that I could spend New Years here in Toronto"

I smiled.

"That's good" I said.

She nodded.

"He's really excited to meet you"

I chuckled and looked down at the breakfast in front of me.

"I'm honestly a bit nervous for that" I admitted.

George chuckled.

"Don't be, her dad is a big softy"

He grinned as he sat down.

"It's her brothers that you should be scared of"

Esmeralda shook her head at George.

"Stop scaring him"

He chuckled.

"They're a bit intimidating, but they mean no harm. You're taller than them if it helps"

"It doesn't really, I'm taller than most people" I stated.

"Her dad is your height"

I looked at Esmeralda who nodded.

"He is"

"I'm suddenly not that hungry anymore" I said.

Esmeralda laughed and took a bite of her pancake.

"Banana nut?"

George nodded and I reached for a fork.

"I guess I shouldn't let food go to waste" I told them.

They laughed as I cut up the pancakes into small pieces.

"I got Mariana to talk with Will"

"That's good" I admitted.

He nodded.

"He might fly to LA since he's got a few days off at the start of the year"

I hummed and nodded making a mental note to talk with Willy.

"That's strange of you"

I looked at Esmeralda who was looking at George.

"You have never liked any of Mariana's boyfriends"
