Gabe

     Sneaking back in is a lot harder than sneaking out. Luckily, I got back in the house and up to my room without waking anyone up. Tomorrow was Sunday, so my last day away from school until next weekend.
I woke up the next morning, and I decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. I passed Jacob's house and I didn't stop because I didn't see him outside. I kept walking, and I got bored, so I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and checked Instagram (yes, I snuck my phone from my mom). I wasn't really looking where I was going, and I bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going, and I didn't mean t-" I explained, but got interrupted.
"It's fine. You look really familiar. Do you go to Washington Middle School?" He replied.
"Yeah, and I think I've seen you around the halls. What's your name?"
"I'm Gabe, and I'm in eighth grade. Aren't you in eighth grade too?"
"Yeah."
"Alright. What's your name?"
"Sierra."
"Ohh, aren't you the girl that ruined the vice principal's cake and got suspended?!"
"Yeah, that's me."
"That was hilarious. I saw the whole thing!"
"I thought it was funny too!"
*Ding* *Ding*
"That's my phone. Mom? ... Okay. I'll be home in 5 minutes. .... That was my mom. I have to go home for lunch now. I'll see you around?"
"Yeah. See ya Gabe."
"Bye Sierra."

     That was... cool? I don't know, but Gabe was cute. I kind of like him...

     I woke up the next morning, and I got ready for school. My 3rd day of school since winter break. Everyone else's 6th. Except Jacob, of course. Jacob wasn't on the bus, so I thought maybe he was sick or something.
    I walked into first period and saw Jacob sitting in his seat next to mine.
"Why weren't you on the bus?" I asked him.
"I woke up late, so my mom had to take me," he answered with a laugh.
"Oh."

     First period ended, and I went to my locker. I shut my locker after grabbing my science book, then turned around and saw Gabe walking up to me.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I answered.
"What class do you go to next?" he asked.
"Science," I replied.
"Oh cool. I have it second period too!"
"Awesome," I said as I looked behind Gabe's shoulder.
     I saw Jacob at his locker looking at me and Gabe. I like Jacob, but I like Gabe, too. I don't want to hurt Jacob's feelings. But I want to get to know Gabe better.
    Gabe and I walked to science together, and we passed Jacob, laughing about something (I forget). I saw Jacob smiling, but it looked like a fake smile. Should I feel bad?
