Is He Going To Be Okay?

     I opened my eyes to find myself in a hospital bed with wires and tubes all around me. I just laid there thinking for a few minutes... trying to figure out why and how I ended up in this small room. After pondering I remembered that I got into a car crash with Jacob.
     Jacob.... JACOB! WHERE IS HE?!
     I squirmed around in the bed trying to get up when I realized that my leg was elevated on top of a pillow. It was my right leg, and it was bundled with thin wrap and a splint.
"Sierra! You're finally awake! Sit still hunny!" I heard my mom say as she ran over to me and grabbed my hand.
"No! No! Where is Jacob?!" I sat up and looked around.
"He is in the Emergency Room... in critical condition." She explained.
"How long ago was the crash?" I asked.
"Six hours ago..." she looked down.
"I was unconscious for that long?!" I raised my voice.
"Yes... and the crash was bad. You broke your leg and hit your head pretty hard on the side window. Jacob broke two ribs and cracked his skull open because he slammed his head on the windshield." She told me.
"How would I have broke my leg in a car crash?" I asked in confusion.
"Well the doctors said that it looked like right before the semi hit Jacob's car you curled up in your seat and tensed up as an instinct. Then once the two vehicles hit you flew forward and your right leg smashed against the dashboard, causing your bone to crack."
"Oh... but I need to see Jacob!" Is he going to be okay?" I started crying.
"Yeah he will be okay," she said looking away from me.
"Mom, please tell me the truth. Is Jacob going to be okay?" I looked up at her.
"Sierra," she paused as she looked at me again, "I- I don't know."
"Well do you think he will be okay? I mean you work at a hospital." I grabbed her arm.
"I don't know Sierra." A tear fell down her cheek.
"Yes you do! I know you do! Is he going to be okay?!" I yelled.
"I'm sorry Sierra... but they said that he probably wasn't going to make it. But they are trying their hardest. He is still unconscious and they think he has short term memory loss." She explained.
"No! He can't leave! He has to be okay!" I balled.
"You're going to be okay I promise." My mom looked into my eyes.
"I know that I will be okay! But I need Jacob to be okay!" I cried and cried.
"Just rest Sierra. I will wake you up as soon as I know anything about him," she kissed my cheek then walked out of the room.
     I tried to calm down so I laid back and drifted off to a light slumber.

Two Hours Later

     I woke up to the sound of a door opening. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. I saw my mom and a nurse walk in my room and walk towards me.
"Okay Sierra we have news about your boyfriend Jacob," she looked at me.
"What is it," I looked back at her.
"Jacob is..." she paused.
