Chapter Thirteen

Space?

August have been thinking of it that long kung talagang kaya niyang ibigay ang bagay na iyon. Yes, she was hurt but damn it! Who could ever teach a heart? Mahal na mahal niya pa din yung tao eh.

Isipin pa lang na lumayo ito sa kanya ay di na niya kaya. Bakit naman kasi sa lahat ng pwedeng mahalin yung taong ayaw pa magpamahal ang napili niya.

Three days. Three freaking days have passed simula nung insidente sa airport. Three days have left pero andun pa din yung sakit. It was the idea that Scarlett was here that pressed the wound harder. Scarlett was here and she's probably with Calev at this moment.

Space?

Well, she would try to consider it. She would atleast try.

"ANDITO ka nga, nasa iba naman isip mo."

She blinked for a couple of times when she heard Ellev's voice. She was on a coffee shop inside a mall with her. She didn't know that Ellev loved to go shopping. Tinext niya lang ito kanina nung maaga siyang naka-uwi galing sa trabaho. Nagreply naman ito agad na magkita daw sila sa isang sikat na mall. Kaninang umaga pa daw ito nandoon at anong oras na ng hapon nang itinext niya ito. Reason? Shopping.

She always see Ellev as one of the boys. Sa mga kaibigan ni Calev ito lang yung babae. Kung di lang ito siga kung umasta, talagang matagal na siyang nagselos dito. She never thought she was fond on shopping. Talaga namang di pa niya ito masyadong ganun kakilala kahit pa noong college pa sila magkakilala. Nagkikita lang din naman kasi sila kung may gimik sila Calev at gusto niyang sumama.

And now, she was here with Ellev without the presence of Calev. Paano nangyari yun? Hindi naman sila ganun ka close? The answer? She did not know either. Basta nung nakamukmok siya kanina sa office niya dahil wala ng ginagawa at gusto niya ng makaka-usap, bigla nalang pumasok sa isip niya si Ellev. Si Cathy naman talaga ang first choice niya kaso kahapon pa ito absent dahil may sakit.

"Sorry Ell," hinging patawad niya. Para kasi kanina pa siya nito napapansin na gumagala kung saan ang isip niya.

Tumango naman ito at tumahimik na. Actually, kanina pa ito dada ng dada eh kaso mi isa sa mga pinagsasabi nito ay walang nakakuha ng kanyang interes. Wala naman kasi itong sinasabi tungkol kay Calev. Parang iniiwasan nga nito na pag-usapan ang binata.

August bet that Ellev knew what was going on. Ellev knew the fact how she was madly inlove to her friend. And this calling-for-a friend-time she told her awhile ago, alam niyang nakuha na ni Ellev na may problema siya and it was about Calev. She was just glad that Ellev did not pushed the issue. She was all talk about funny stuffs na hindi niya kayang tawanan ng sobra kahit pa nakakatawa naman talaga.

After a long silence she heard Ellev cleared her throat.

"We knew," she started. August never bothered to looked up at her. Hindi na din siya nagulat. They were not that close para sabihin nito kung ano ang mga nalalaman nito. Dalawa lang naman yun eh, it's either Calev told them about Scarlett or he kept it.

"Have you met her?" Ellev asked after she did not say any word. She was pertaining to Scarlett.

"I saw her." She sighed. "With him. Airport."

On her peripheral vision she saw how Ellev pursed her lips and the sudden softening of her  expression. She even saw pity on how Ellev looked at her. But she did not care anymore. She just hoped Ellev would understand how messed she was at the moment.
