I stood in front of my mirror, continuously looking from the mirror to my now, always open door. I had to oblige by the rules. He needed to keep watch, to listen to the sounds.
The deep colored markings along my neck, it has been 2 days and my neck looked like a mixture of a punching bag, black and blue. My back held a few bruises along with my shoulders. My mother had no clue, I cut off my communication with everyone once more.
I applied enough make up to my neck and face that the bruises were covered, I didnt look cakey, and everything seemed normal. I got dressed in my tight black skinny jeans that held rips at the knees and put on my Carolina Roman Numerals top from Brandy Melville, I decided I needed more to the outfit so I grabbed my Vintage Renewal Solid Flannel in Navy from the men's section at Urban Outfitters and tied it around my waist. I sat on the floor in front of my closet and put on cat socks and slipped on my Steve Madden ASAP boots after and grabbed my You Can Sit With Us beanie and put it on.
I grabbed my phone, ignoring the texts from Ashton, Luke, Calum, Michael and Riley. I walked out of my bedroom and downstairs to where my mother was sat upon the bar counter reading a magazine.
"Where are you going?" she asked me, I shrugged. "I was just planning to walk around Times Square and shop, would you like to come?" I asked her, hoping she would say no but things never work in my favor.
"Sure, let me grab my purse and change." she told me, which is how I just realized she was in work out clothes. I grabbed my bag and the money that is now on a debit card, which made things a whole lot easier for me. She quickly came down in a classy but casual dress attire, I felt a bit dressed down but my neck hurt and it still ached, but I have been forced to talk to make sure no one's suspicions act up.
We called for a cab and allowed them to drive us to Times Square, of course, we didnt pay because my mom is just that good looking.
I got out of the car and thought about where I would like to go first, I checked the time and my mom thought we should get coffee. The carbs floated around my mind and I just followed her to the nearest Starbucks where I kindly refused a drink from her because I wasnt thirsty.
It never occured to my parents what my appearance looked like, I just had to dance perfectly and everything would be okay. We sat at a window seat, talking about nonsense at her job, the affairs shared by numerous employees, the things I never cared about but had nothing better to do.
She glanced at her watch, "I want to go to one side of Times Square, I know you wont want to go into the same stores, so lets meet back here at 2pm and we will head out for lunch." she instructed.
I nodded at my mother and silently thanked her as I got up with her and bought us both waters before going our separate ways.
My feet walked a nice pace as the cool air of New York flew around me. I closed my eyes for a brief second, smiling at the nice aura it left off. I saw Urban Outfitters and walked inside, seeing that it wasnt as packed as usual, which made me sigh in relief. I wasnt going to have to contribute into much socializing.
I quickly texted my mom, telling her to add more money to my card while I glanced at all the new arrivals in the store. The last time I shopped was when I ran from 5SOS.
I grabbed a basket and began grabbing sweaters that were on sale, random shirts that appealed to me, along with dresses, shorts, and jeans. Tights were occasional and I bought skirts along with tons of knee/over-the-knee socks. I heard the familiar laughter of a soft voice, Riley. It was followed by rowdy voices, I panicked and took my basket and ran into the dressing rooms.
