"How did you meet Alex?"

"I met him years ago..."

"This here is Alex," Father said, nudging me forward.

Holding out a hand to the boy, a smile dotted my face.

"Hey there!"

The young boy's face reddened. 

"Nice to meet you... Elli."

Olivia bent over and chuckled, nearly dropping the veil in her hands.

"He thought that you were a girl?"

I joined her.

"Yeah, he did. You should've seen his face when he found out."

"How did he find out?"

"Oh, sometime after he confessed."

She reddened.

"Confessed?"

"Confessed what?"

The two of us jumped back.

Standing by the doorway was Alexis.

"Why did you two suddenly ran off?" Alex questioned.

"Uh," Olivia began.

"We had to talk about something important," I said.

Alex narrowed his eyes.

He wasn't going to accept that.

"About this 'confession'?"

"Did you really confess to Elliot?" Olivia blurted out.

Alex's face flushed.

"I was a kid! The guy was wearing girl clothes."

Olivia's eyebrows raised.

"You were?"

I sighed.

"It's a tradition in my clan for us guys to cross-dress. My mom also mistook father as a girl when they first met. It becomes more obvious as we age."

"Why?"

"It's a way to honor Goddess. I guess that you can call it a long-term ritual. A guy who can't complete it will be shunned."
