Our wolf friend led us through a thick jungle. All around us was the croaking of what sounded like frogs, but one could never be too sure. It was an alien world after all.

"No need to be afraid," Xulan said, snickering as I hid behind him.

"Easy for you to say, you are familiar with this place," I said, gripping the back of his shirt as a cawing sound filled the sky above.

"Exactly, I know this place. I'll tell when something comes up which we must flee from."

"O...okay."

"Such a coward," Thalia muttered under her breathe.

"Pathetic," Ryan said, nodding.

"I am not pathetic!" I shouted at him.

Thalia chuckled. "So you admit that you're at least a coward?"

"Uh..."

Xulan sighed. "It's not nice to make fun of other's fears. Or are you saying that you fear nothing?"

Thalia's smile vanished.

I felt like hugging Xulan for shutting her up! Why hadn't I thought of saying that to her?

"Are we close to the ruins?" I asked.

"No, we still got a long distance to traverse through, including the land of the Tanibus pack."

The way he said Tanibus... it was one of those things he was referring to. Something we had to avoid.
