Episode 30: Magic Potion (Elliot)

"Shunned?" Olivia asked.

I nodded.

"It's seen as a disgrace to the Goddess to not dress in female clothes until one turns eighteen. There are exceptions; those who have developed a certain power, or who leave the clan lands may remove their female clothing. Well, there's one other exception but that one no longer exists."

"What was that?"

"Going to the western lands. Those lands are now called 'Mina'."

"Mina?"

"Mina used to belong to us. I'm not quite sure as to why those lands were an exception. Though, a lot of men would visit them in the distance pass to come of age. When I return to Xian I plan to take the test."

Alex smiled.

"Little Elliot will finally be considered a grown up?"

I glared at him.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

My friend lightly punched me.

"Just playing with ya. I'm sure that you'll pass."

"Mind telling me why men can't rule?" Olivia asked.

"That's a long story," I responded. "Just take your potion. Tell me if you sense any difference."

"Potion?" Alex asked.

His eyes widened to the size of golf-balls.

"That's... Why do you have that?"

Olivia gulped. 

"Uh... jeez, I might as well spill everything now that you got me."
