"My father sought to protect it, though. But, if fighting his brother created this, then what kind of world would've resulted if he just handed me over?" I said. I closed my eyes. "Perhaps it truly would've been best to have turned myself over instead of fleeing."

My friends and family shivered. 

"It's scary thinking about it," Elliot said. He put his arms around me without warning. "I'm certain that whatever followed would've been scarier. So, Olivia, do not think like that. You'll only cause yourself more pain."

"This story, it reminds me our own," Xun said, closing his eyes.

Elliot nodded. "Yeah. But in that case, the attackers weren't this strong. But... it still costed the life of a parent."

My eyes widened. "Wait, your parents died protecting you?"

The two remained silent. "That's a story for another time," Xun said, staring ahead. "I think that you should rest. We'll wake you up when we've arrived."

I sighed. "Alright."

I leaned against Elliot's chest and closed my eyes.
