Alex's face reddened.
His mysterious eyes looked off to the side.
"I didn't need to know that."
"Guys, dinner is ready," Olivia said.
As soon as I heard her voice, I felt nervous.
"I'll be there soon," I answered.
Alex's eyes locked on me.
"What's with that face? You seem scared."
Nervously laughing,
I stepped back.
"Whatever do you mean?"
"I mean, there's a nervous air to you.
Did something happen while I was gone?"
I ruffled my hair.
"Nothing at all."
I walked over to him and lifted him out of bed.
"Come, let's go eat."
He continued to give me that unconvinced, probing glance of his.

"Good to see you again," Olivia said.
Alex sat down next to her and smiled.
"Likewise. Wish that you could've attended the recital."
"If there's ever one at night then I'll attend it."
A luminescent red tinted his cheeks.
Olivia flashed him a breath taking smile.
These two had barely known each other,
Yet they seemed so close.
Watching their exchange,
I couldn't help but feel tossed aside.
"By the way, why are you dress so nicely?" Olivia asked.
I glanced up.
"You're talking to me?"
"Of course, who else here is dress that nicely."
Alex and I pointed to... well Alex.
"You know what I mean!" she yelled, flustered.
I leaned my elbows against the table.
"I... wanted to try something else."
