I ran outside as fast as I could.

The cold air greeted me as if angered.

"Have you decided to forsaken me during my time of need?" I asked as I fled into the blizzard winds.

Behind me were several guards.

Each of them wielding powerful wands which enabled them to shoot longer range attacks than they normally would be able to.

"They're treating me as if this were a war."

I glanced down at the crimson snow.

"Damn it..."

"Ahh, Basil," a voice called.

"Help me..."

A hand reached down and picked me up.

"Worry not young one."

Suddenly screams filled the air.

But I could not see for my eyelids closed.

"Rest now, child."

"No," a young man said.

His voice... It belonged to one of my sister's friends.

"Why did you do this? Father?" the guy asked.

"F...father?" I said as my conscious drifted.

"This isn't the time or place to speak. I would've liked to have seen you in better circumstance, Jason."

So my sister's friend was his son...
