In Paradise, the 3 were completely aware and awake now, talking quietly with each other.
"What do you think they put in us?" Eyes asked.
"Whatever made those things over there," came the blunt reply from Silencer, who earned herself a look from the other two. She looked off and hugged herself.
There was a low grunt from Eyes, who dismissed it as he was just hungry. The effects of what he had injected into him were starting. Silencer was already showing signs of changing, especially with her previous statement. And Antlers? He looked paler than usual, and the tips of his antlers looked like they were... rotting.
They were given hardly enough food to share, and often Silencer or Eyes tried to say they weren't hungry. They almost forced Ant to eat, mostly due to his appearance, and the fact he was smaller than both of them, he needed to grow. Upon looking at him, the triclops found the satyr's eyes to be dilated, milky, and the boy had having a hard time focusing on his face.
"Ant? You okay?"
He didn't respond.
"Ant, buddy, come on. Talk to me," he pleaded.
Still nothing. And then Antlers fell back, almost as if he were in slow motion. The girl scooted over quickly and picked his head up onto her thigh. His eyes were wide open, unblinking, unmoving. "Hey, wake up!"
"What's wrong with him?"
"I don't know! Help me wake him up, he can't pass out..."
The horned girl nodded and then looked down, muttering an apology before smacking him across the face. There was no response.
"P-Pulse. Check his pulse!"
They were both panicking now. A small, petite hand slipped around an even smaller one, moving to his wrist and feeling for that little throbbing sign that he was fine.
"He's cold," she whispered, then shook her head and looked up, tears springing in her eyes. "Its f-faint."
They moved quick to try and save their friend, doing whatever they knew how to do. It wasn't enough. Ant had gone colder and his antlers began chipping away, parts of it just crumpling to the floor. He blinked once, took a short breath, and then went still.
"No, no, no, you can't d-die on us... please don't!" Silencer nearly yelled, alerting the guards nearby.
"What's going on in there?"
"He's dead, Sil! Dead!" Eyes told her, grief in his eyes.
The guards, two of them, moved to unlock the door and step in, taking the fallen boy from their arms despite their pleas. Silencer got up as one was getting ready to leave and grabbed his sleeve, then gripped it. She yanked hard and pulled herself over, glaring. "What are you going to do to him?"
There was a small grin, "the Flame."
She didn't need any more than that, she knew what was going to happen. He knocked her hand away, causing her to stumble back, and he left, locking the door. Eyes grabbed her arm and pulled her down next to him, eyes searching, and she hugged him. They both broke down crying.
