Sacrifices Must be Made

It was several hours before Silencer had awoken, and in that time the other kids had taken care of what they needed. Be that cleaning wounds, bandaging, and even foraging for food. There were animals around, but they didn't have a fire going so they decided on the plant life. Berries were chosen carefully, certain greens, and they even found onions. They gathered them all up in large leaves and carried them back, rationing it out evenly. When the horned girl woke, she was given her share. They ate slowly, enjoying their meal as though it we're the best thing they were ever given, or even their last. They were showing signs of emaciation, all of them, but they didn't let that stop them.

All of them were growing weaker, but together they were still strong.

Once fed and rested, they mustered up their strength and began on their way. Where to? That was the question they had not an answer to.

"What do we do now?" one asked, which led to the whole group stopping and looking at each other.

"We can't just go back, they know who we all are," Guardian said.

"But we can live out here alone… right?" Vines asked.

"Not without getting caught."

They took a minute to think, then looked defeated.

"The whole purpose of us was to explore inhabitable planets for humans," Silencer started, "so should we try to leave? Would it be worth it?"

"But we're all made differently, so we can't all go together… we'd have to leave each other behind," Eyes stated quietly, looking to the ground.

"I'm not leaving any of you behind, no matter how distant we may be. We're still friends and we're still in this together," stated the harpy, looking serious and proud to call them her friends.

They all agreed with her.

"But we do have to leave, they'll find us otherwise. If… if we have to separate then we have to. For the sake of all of us. I don't want to see any of you die, or send you off to your deaths, but I'd rather be there than here."

All of their gazes fell to the ground now as they reconsidered. Maybe leaving was their best option. With that in mind, now they had to figure out where and how to get off of Earth and venture to their designated planets. They began walking again, this time towards the "school" they'd come from. They took a turn through the forest and bypassed it, going around, and finding a weird looking obelisk sort of building. It was dark grey and glowing a soft neon green around the places it connected or wiry-looking parts, kind of like a computer chip.

They watched as little shuttles flew in and out of the top.

That was their ticket out. They just needed a ticket in.
