Wounds were checked, bandages were replaced, and everyone was fed enough to get going. The pulse fire wounds Guardian and Historia had were still healing, but they said they weren't nearly as painful as before. Silencer hadn't snapped in awhile, which helped her regain trust in those who lost it beforehand. Eyes seemed to be doing okay, as did Vines, Fox, and Jack. They went out hunting again and fetched some more water and plants; mostly herbal plants this time. While this was an alien planet, Vines still knew about a few of the herbal plants and there was even aloe vera here.
They made a small fire to heat and cleanse the water they brought back. They hadn't cooked their food yet, but they did wrap it up as tight as they could to preserve it for an hour or two. More exploration went underway, at least 2 miles worth of it, and they saw mountains in the horizon with snowcaps. It was rather nice to see, but snow was the last thing they wanted to deal with.
The escape pod was remodeled from hand and their new tools into a temporary shelter with a roof and walls. They slept huddled together with a woven leaf blanket over them all. Their expeditions got further with each passing day as food nearby grew scarce; though on these long journeys they found more resources, a natural cave, and even bigger animals. They rationed their food evenly and only ate as much as they needed to grow. There was never leftovers; they didn't have a way to preserve it any longer than a couple of hours.
At one point, Fox went out alone, wanting to get a walk in and just think about things without being bothered. She was silent as she walked towards the smaller of the forests and climbed a tree, perching near the bottom so she could jump down easily. She sat back and looked around.
Meanwhile, the other kids played games, talked, and asked about their futures. Vines wanted to live in a cabin with electricity and his friends close by; maybe get a pet. Eyes wanted to live in a place with Fox so they'd have company. Guardian wanted to live with Silencer, and likewise, so he could keep an eye on her. Though he did like his alone time and she knew when to back off. Historia liked the idea of a tree house but Jack, who "secretly" wanted to live with her, wasn't too fond of being up that high. They all agreed that they wanted to live close and always stay in touch, always be friends. They wanted to be ready to fight and stand together if they had to. To be close if one was to die so they could be there for them.
For 10 year olds, these kids were already mature enough, brain-wise, to be teenagers.
