It was a quiet and awkward walk towards the back of the cave. The delved deeper, following the odd alien girl and looking around them. It could easily be a trap, or her trying to find dinner and they were it.
Finally, an opening came into view, spreading out into this room beyond. They'd followed the dull grey walls, which were damp from condensation and the whole places was chilly. Every now and then they'd seen a shimmer from a white-ish crystal, but they never took one, being told not to by the alien.
Now, this opening looked to be just as dull as the cave itself, but upon further inspection they found more crystal formations and darker patches on the walls and floor. In the corner of this opening laid a hole. It was big but not too big. The squid girl neared it and then slipped inside, disappearing beneath it. The kids looked at each other, deciding if they should follow. Eyes went first, then Vines, Fox, Jack, Historia, Silencer, and then Guardian.
Loud crashes and smacks of bodies hitting water echoed off the walls, which were lined with moss and greenery. Vines and plants laid out beyond and rested on little outcroppings. The water was a beautiful blue, clear and shimmering from an unknown light source. The kids popped up one by one, coughing and sputtering. All but one. The siren began panicking after looking around and soon he dove down. There at the bottom sat the small, blonde girl; bubbles sparked from her nose and mouth. She was calm, but also panicking. She couldn't breath. Arms wrapped around her and pulled her towards the surface, where she was moved towards at outcropping. Hands were placed on her chest and then pressed down to release the water from her lungs.
She coughed and spat, getting it all out before just laying there, weak. She regulated her breathing but Guardian stayed there.
"She can't swim," he told the others, though they could've guessed.
There was a soft mutter from ahead and then a little bubble moving towards the tall boy and short girl. It fit around the horned girl's head and spread out enough to give her room. She sat up and took a breath. It felt normal… she let Guardian help her back into the water and she sank some, unable to control her buoyancy. But she could still breath. She started grinning, one corner of her mouth curling up, and then she let out a chuckle. Slowly, she sank, but drowning wasn't an issue now. The siren grabbed an arm and they swam after this alien girl now, who was underwater again.
The plant life grew beneath too, with several things resembling cattails or even kelp. Eyes and the squid girl looked at home here, as well as Guardian, but the rest were meant to be on land. Historia new she wouldn't be able to fly for awhile after this, her wings too heavy with water.
They continued on.
