A resonating roar shook the ground below, which in turn led to the underwater city shaking as well. Fox, Eyes, Vines, and Bubbles knew not of why the city shook, but they knew it had to be something big.
Kh'Zk's heart sank. What if the humans bombed the land above? What if the four sent off died because of her kicking the crazy girl out? She now felt guilty and wanted to see for herself.
"Up." She pointed her spear towards the palace's roof and narrowed her eyes.

"That sounded exactly like the thing from Earth, Guardian," Historia pointed out with wide eyes.
"I know... did you see it?" he replied.
She shook her head and the siren pointed up at the sky, where the beast swam. She flinched and shook her head.
"No, no, no... is it here for us?"
A voice of fear and eyes that said the same. All four of the test subjects now had one question running through their heads: is it here to kill us?
Jack and Silencer now looked to the sky, wanting to see their killer before their death. They didn't get a good look as it had disappeared beyond the clouds.
Several minutes passed.
And then the serpent was nosediving towards the ground, spinning ever so slightly and gradually speeding up. It stopped spinning and the kids prepared themselves. It was aimed for their newly built house. A small hand grabbed a bigger one, and then a smaller one grabbed a winged hand. They braced themselves.
The creature suddenly jolted up, shooting off into the sky. It then spun around, headed back down at a slower rate and eventually landing on all fours. Its eyes scanned the building before it, its nose wiggling as it sniffed out life.
One hand slipped free and little patters of feet hitting the ground sounded, growing softer with the distance. They stopped.
"Silencer, come back!" hissed the tall siren in a hushed tone.
A purple and a blue eye gazed up at the face of the beast in awe. Her mouth hung ajar and her hands at her side. She was completely vulnerable. Serpent's own eyes flicked downwards and he twitched his whiskers.
A hand outstretched and a mouth bared rows of sharp teeth. The little blonde girl stared the beast in the eyes as she moved closer until, eventually, her hand collided with it's snout. Nothing was said, not a sound made; nothing but contact.
It's jaws shut and body relaxed as the girl smiled genuinely. She pet his snout before turning to face her friends, who were absolutely mortified at the sight.
"Its okay! He's nice!" she called out, giggling quietly.
"That's it. She's insane," Jack muttered, shaking where he stood.
