The truck stopped, having lurched forward and it sent the three into the back of the truck, slamming hard. They fell to the floor after, unconscious. The soldiers lined the door as two men with gas masks on came in to blindfold each of them, then bind their hands behind their backs. They were then pulled out and waited to be woken up. With the fall not being too bad, it was only about 20 minutes before the three regathered themselves.
Only, they were met with darkness, even with their eyes open. The children began panicking, breathing faster and harder, trying to move their arms. A futile attempt. Soldiers jabbed them in the backs with the butt of their guns and they walked side by side, headed for Paradise.
They were not allowed to see the building, not allowed to see the halls they traversed. They were taken to a room and thrown inside, the binds being taken off and then the blindfolds. The guards lined the long hallway while scientists walked along, checking on the others here. Some , from what the kids could see, were amalgamations of things, large blobs with extra limbs sticking out. Too many eyes, no limbs, no eyes, deformed mouths. These were the failed; and they were among them now.
The others who went on were taken to their new homes, dorms within a very large building, a school. They received a room and one or two roommates around their "grade level" as they called it. They learned of how the Earth formed, learned how to read and write, every basic thing they needed to know. Then, days later, came the harder stuff. They now learned what Historia had learned. Guardian found her at some point, and they became closer without Silencer. Fox joined them as well and Vines tagged along occasionally.
Curiosity spread among the group, and they began to wonder about what Paradise was like. Wondered what Silencer, Eyes, and, as they found out, Antlers, were doing. They couldn't help the bad thoughts, despite trying to push them away with the good.
Screams filled the little chamber holding a girl with one faded blue eye and the other a deep purple. She jerked around in her restraints, screaming and protesting against the several needles about to be pushed into her body. Outside of that chamber, Eyes and Antlers awaited their turn. Awaited Silencer's return.
More shrieks, more yelling. Everything echoed off the walls of Paradise. You could hear anything that went on.
The girl managed to bite the nurse on his hand, clamping down and refusing to let go until he had to beat her head to get her off. Now nauseous, she put up a feeble fight and weakly mewled as the needles punctured her thin body.
It was at times like these that she wished she'd have given up on trying to pass those tests. Wish she'd have died during training.
