The bell releasing Philip from 3rd hour rang after what seemed like an eternity, prompting him out of his seat like a criminal out-running the cops.
Philip had been dying for lunch to start since the warning bell had rang for first hour.
Sure he seen some of Theodosia in an earlier class, but he wanted to talk to all of his friends at once about the matter at hand.
Philip grabbed his lunch box out of his locker and arrived at the cafeteria, quickly spotting Theodosia Burr and William Mulligan already sitting at the group's usual table.
"Theo, I need to talk to you once everyone gets here." Philip said, sitting across from his friend.
Thoedosia raised an eyebrow.
"It isn't a super serious thing. Just a question I want everyone's opinion on."
"What question?" Frances, Philip's twin, asked.
"You'll see."
"You can't see questions, dummy." Frances said, flicking Philip in the back of the head, causing Will to snicker.
"Shut up, Mulligan." Philip mumbled. Frances had been born earlier than him by their surrogate mother, and she always acted like those seven minutes were seven years.
Five minutes passed before David Jones, the final link to the friend group, escaped the lunch line. "You guys are so lucky you bring lunch from home. My parents are too busy to make me a lunch, and I can't do it because I'm shit at anything involving making food."
"You could always ask G for a slice of the pizza he always brings for the senior football payers." Theo suggested, nodding to the lunch table where the formerly mentioned group sat, including G Lafayette, Richard Price, Eston H. Jefferson, and George Eacker. A large pizza box sat in the middle of the table.
David shook his head frantically. "Nope, nope, nope. Richard Price is over there, and he makes a lot of weird sexual comments whenever I'm around."
Theo shrugged, not willing to continue the argument.
"So, Theo, my question," Philip said "is how did you get Eacker to apologize for breaking my arm?"
Theodosia shook her head. "That's the thing. I went to go make him apologize this morning and he was all 'already planning on it.' Like, what the fuck?"
"Really?" Frances asked, looking at Theodosia, her girlfriend.
Theo nodded.
Philip hummed, in thought. "I believe there is more to him than what he projects." Philip finally said.
"Speak of the devil." Will said, nodding to G Lafayette leading a small group of senior football players to Philip's table.
