The sun painted the sky pinks, oranges, and purples as it dipped behind the trees in the backyard, bringing the last day of summer with it.
Rain spattered lightly on Philip's window, perfecting the nostalgic masterpiece that was taking place outside.
Philip's phone buzzed, and he tore his eyes away from the window to see who had texted him.
From:GGG To:you, t-HOE-dosia, Dickety-Dick, Save David, Save William, Clone, Eston from the East(south), and (xxx)xxx-xxxx
GGG: HOLY SHIT GUYS GEORGE HAS NEVER HAD A SMORE???
Eston from the East(south): Every day we stray further and further from God.
Dickety-Dick: I've lost faith in humanity :(((((
t-HOE-dosia: Wait, who is (xxx)xxx-xxxx?
GGG: George Eacker
Philip smiled and added George to his contacts.
Eacker the Bitch: Why does it matter so much that I haven't had a s'more?
Dickety-Dick: And here I was, thinking you were my friend...
Clone: We'll pray for you.
Me: Ok, I can't let this continue on. All of you need to come over like right now so we can make George a goddamn s'more.
GGG: I'll be there in 10!
Clone: You can't just invite people over to our house like this, Philip.
Me: Shut up, Frances.
Philip turned his phone off as it buzzed again, probably with a witty comeback from Frances.
"Dad!" Philip yelled, running to the edge of the stairs "I'm having some friends over to make s'mores because George Eacker has never had one before!"
"Isn't he the one who broke your arm?" John Laurens called back.
"Ya! We'll be using the outdoor firepit!" Philip yelled.
John muttered something about messed up kids.
"G is bringing everyone over in like half an hour." Frances said, emerging from her room, which was next to Philip's.
Philip bounced up and down in excitement.
Frances rolled her eyes. "I can't believe George Eacker has never had a s'more before." She said.
