"ONE!" The people on the TV cheered signaling the New Year.
Philip stood up on his toes, leaned over, grabbed George's scarf, and kissed him.
He had only planned to do so a couple moments before the New Year's ball dropped, but it was still a good kiss.
George pulled away, surprised.
Philip immediately regretted his decision.
"Sorry," he said, blushing heavily "I just wanted a New Year's kiss, 'cause, y'know, that's a thing people do and-"
George cut him off by kissing him again.
In books and stuff, when kissing, people don't usually open their mouths right away. It was different for Philip and George.
Their lips moved together like they were dancing, and Philip clung to George's scarf because he didn't trust himself to stand on his own.
George pressed Philip against the wall of the store, turning the kiss into a full on make out session. Philip was vaguely aware of George dropping the shopping bag full of chips so he could intertwine his fingers in Philip's hair.
There they were, making out against the wall in the middle of a winter night, releasing a month of missing each other, and a couple years worth of waiting to finally kiss.
Eventually the kiss ended, and the two stood in front of each other, gulping in cold winter air.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for this to happen." George said. His lips were swollen and he was blushing.
"An eternity?" Philip guessed.
"Even longer." George answered.
Philip pulled George into a hug, burying his face in the other's chest. "I've missed you." He said "How about we ditch the party and go back to my house and watch Disney or something?"
"Right now, you could ask me to go digging around in a garbage dump with you, and I would say yes just to spend time with you." George said.
Philip giggled. "Come on, you big nerd, let's go home. We can dig around in a garbage dump some other day."
"Ok, but what are we doing with the chips?" George asked, lifting up the shopping bag.
"Taking those with us," Philip said "G and the rest of the seniors can survive without them."
George smiled, and reached out to take Philip's hand.
Together, they walked away.
(Are you happy with this?)
