Philip sniffed and leaned his head on George's shoulder. "My baby is all grown up." He said.
George smiled and said nothing, just watched Katie walk across the high school graduation stage and receive her diploma.
He ran his hands through Philip's streaked-with-gray hair, as his husband took pictures, both of them crying.
Their younger son, Alex, huffed impatiently. He was just out of freshman year, and going through some sort of emo phase that made him pretend he hated his family.
Katie waved at George, her short curls bouncing as she walked. For both of their children Philip had gotten a surrogate mother pregnant, George's cousin on his Mother's side, and George took pride in how much their kids, especially Katie, looked like Philip.
George had reconnected with his Mother, and had been accepted happily by her side of his family. It was weird, suddenly having three younger siblings, but he had learned to love them.
Alexander Hamilton, who their son had been named after, sat with them. John Laurens had died two years ago, but Alex had stubbornly held on, and George could see him smiling brightly as he watched his granddaughter take her seat.
Aaron Hamilton, Katie's cousin, sat next to her, whispering between each other as Zachary Jones, Dick and David's son, winked at Aaron, which made the boy flush.
George thought back to when he had graduated, and how new to the world and unsure he had been.
He had aged so much since then. His hair was turning gray, and his knees ached from arthritis sometimes, but he was still that young boy at heart.
Philip took his hand, snapping George out of his thoughts.
George smiled, happy with the life he had led.
