(You all hate Joe so much. Chill, he's just an OC for the plot...)

David knocked on the Price's door nervously, waiting anxiously as he hear footsteps coming to get it.

"Oh hey, David! Here to see Richard?" Lana Price asked, swinging her purse over her shoulder.

"Ya." David said.

"Oh, well, I was just about to head out to work. Richard's room is the first on the left." She said, letting David into the house and then running out to her car.

David awkwardly closed the door and headed up the stairs.

David had meant to corner Dick and tell him how he felt sooner, but Dick never seemed to be alone. Now, finally, David could talk to him.

Every step up the stairs he was torn between leaving and pretending he had never been there, and sprinting up the stairs to wrap his arms around Dick.

Interesting, how loving someone makes you feel.

David reached the top of the stairs and stood in front of Dick's door.

He knocked, carefully, and heard no reply. He tried the doorknob, and found it unlocked.

David opened the door.

Dick was sprawled across his bed, fast asleep.

His dark, curly hair was spread out like a halo around his head. His lips were parted. His long lashes lay across his high cheekbones. He was shirtless, and his lean chest rose and fell with every breath. One of his arms rested across his chest, while the other one was tucked behind his head.

David stared at him for a moment, caught off guard by how peaceful he looked for once.

David walked forward and lightly touched Dick's cheek in a manner of affection he hadn't planned. It was oddly hard not to want to reach out and touch Dick, even if the original plan had been to confess and then get the fuck out.

David brushed Dick's hair back, and then leaned down and kissed his hairline. "I love your dumbass, and I hate myself for it, because you won't return my feelings. The only reason I'm telling you I love you at all is because you're asleep, and you won't remember this moment."

"Or am I asleep?" Dick said.

David jumped back and stared, alarmed, at Dick, who just smiled that fox-like smile of his.

David moved to run out of the room, but Dick caught his wrist before he could move. "Confessing and then running away? Not very Prince Charming of you." Dick said.

"I've never been any sort of Prince Charming, and you know it." David snapped, lashing out because he wasn't sure how the situation would play out.

"I don't know," Dick said, letting David's hand go and trailing his fingers up David's arm "I can definitely see you in royal attire."
David rolled his eyes. "I'm leaving now." He said, turning to go.

"Please don't go!" Dick said, his flirty suddenly manner gone.

David turned to look at him.

"I don't want you to go." Dick mumbled, looking away.

David sighed and walked forward, placing his hand on Dick's cheek once more "I won't go if you don't want me to."

For once, Dick didn't say anything. He just pulled David onto the bed and hugged him.
