"So then everyone's freaking out, and I didn't really get it because it was just a clogged toilet, even if it was by a baguette, and then my friend comes up to me and tells me that the first floor is flooded. And I was like 'oh damn' and then-"
Philip giggled at the story George was retelling, smiling fondly at him, even though his boyfriend couldn't see him in the crowd of seniors.
Frances noticed him smiling at George, and elbowed him knowingly.
Philip put his arm around her shoulders, and she did the same to him.
"Are you scared to graduate?" Frances asked.
"No, why would I be?" Philip asked.
"Well, before now, everything we would do was already planned out. And now, everything we do next is our decision, and that's a lot to push on someone sometimes." France replied.
"True. I guess I am a bit scared." Philip admitted.
"Well, you have a twin, which most people don't have. And I'll be here for you, no matter how bad you fuck yourself up." Frances said, patting Philip's shoulder.
"And I'll be here for you, too. No matter what shit you start." Philip answered.
They stood with their arms around each other for a while, taking in their last day of high school.
"And then, after they finally mopped up the baguette toilet water, and we can go inside again, I'm walking towards the building, and my friend taps me on the shoulder. He goes 'do you know who clogged the toilet?' And I go 'no....?' And he goes '.....it was me.' And I'm sure you're all dying to know who clogged the toilet with a baguette, because that never really got resolved. The Baguette Clogger was fucking Georges Washington De Lafayette."
G smiled, not at all sorry for what he did. He's only a few people down the line, so Frances and Philip reach over and pat G's back, along with Eston, David, Will, and Dick.
George continues on, telling stories and bringing back gossip until the end of his speech.
He leaves the podium, and the line lurches forward, beginning the diploma receiving.
