A loud gasp woke me up as I immediately sat up to find Barry sitting at the edge of the bed. I sat up and moved over beside him as I placed my hand on his shoulder, he stiffened for a second before he relaxed. "Barry. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it was just a nightmare."He replied softly as he placed his hand on my thigh.
"Barry you don't look okay." I looked at him noticing the beads of sweat that were covering his face as he still struggled to take a breath. "What are your nightmares about?" I asked him realizing how serious they were.
"It doesn't matter, they're just nightmares." He assured me and I sighed deciding that he would tell me when he was ready. I looked over at clock and regardless of the time I began getting up from the bed before Barry reached out for my arm. "Where are you going?"
"Might as well get up."
"No. Can we stay in bed a little longer?" Barry asked me as he pulled me back into bed. Giving in I rested my head on his chest as he pulled me closer. "I've missed this."
"Well don't expect this too often." I told him closing my eyes hoping that I could maybe try to go back to sleep.
"Why not?" Barry asked as he sat up a little, ruining all chances of me falling back to sleep.
"Do I have to remind you that I don't live alone?"
"Right. I forgot about Caitlin." He muttered "Maybe we should get our own place?"
"I am not going to leave Caitlin to go live with you." I told him, after everything that happened with Ronnie and Ra's she moved in with me so we would feel a little less alone, and I wasn't planning on leaving her.
"I just thought it would be nice if we had our own place."
"This was our place." I reminded him with a sigh and deciding it was better to not carry on this discussion any further I got up from the bed and headed towards the bathroom. "I'm going to shower."
After taking a quick shower and getting ready for the day I noticed the smell of something burning and I immediately ran out of the room to find the source of the smell only to find Barry standing in the middle of the kitchen. In front of him was a whole breakfast meal on the counter, but that did;t explain the smell.
"I made breakfast." Barry said proudly as he gestured to all the food on the table, as I walked into the kitchen I took a look inside the trashcan where I could see the burnt remains of pancakes and bacon.
"No. This is from the Big Belly Burger breakfast menu." I countered as I looked down at the plated breakfast in front of me.
"I promise I'll get better at cooking." He quickly told me.
"It's the thought that counts." I assured him as I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him into a kiss."Although I do wonder how someone with superspeed can manage burning pancakes."
"Yeah, lets not get into that." He replied as he pulled me back into a kiss.
Suddenly the front door slowly creeped opened as a barefoot Caitlin walked inside trying to slowly make her way through the living room. Barry and I looked at each other amused at the fact that Caitlin hadn't noticed us and actually thought that she was sneaking into the apartment.
"It's about time." I said causing her to jump in surprise as she looked at us and immediately began to blush. "What time is this to get home?"
"Oh no. You can not say that to me." Caitlin said defensively getting over her initial embarrassment. "Especially since my not sleeping here tonight benefited the two of you."
