"I mean, where did this speedster even come from?" Jade asked is disbelief once we were all gathered back in the Cortex the next morning. Sure she had now been working with us for a couple of weeks now but it was clear that she was still having some trouble wrapping her mind around the idea of metas. 

"I don't know." Cisco replied. "All I know is that blur made 60 smackeroos off of me. Ridiculous."

"Maybe it's another one of Zoom's henchmen somehow?" Caitlin suggested.

"The breaches are closed." I stated knowing that it was impossible for it to have been someone sent by Zoom.  The only other way to become a speedster is from a particle accelerator explosion.

"Okay, but then why only make yourself known now?" Cisco asked. "You see what I'm saying? We'd have had to seen them in action before."

"Yeah, but that's the only way to become a speedster." Barry continued to argue. None of this made sense, this attack was completely random. There was no explanation or motive.

"Actually, there's another way." Caitlin stated now being the center of attention.  She simply sighed as she walked into her lab, leaving us all to silently follow her in return. Opening up a small vault that was under lock and key, Caitlin pulled out a test tube filled with a red liquid I had never seen before. "It's called Velocity-9."

"Ooh, that's a sexy-ass name." Cisco commented in approval. "What is it?" 

"It's a speed drug. Jay took it when you were on Earth-2 to save the city from a meta-human."

There was no question that were all were surprised, but Barry seemed to be the one that took this secret more personally. "What? How could you not tell me this?" 

"I promised Jay I wouldn't."

"Jay, what do you why?" 

"Because Jay knew how dangerous this drug is." Harrison declared as he entered the room. "I should know, Barry; Snow and I worked on it together."

"Guys, I have been busting my butt out there, pushing myself to the limit, trying to get better, trying to be faster, and you're telling me that there's been something this whole time that could've helped me?" Barry exclaimed. But his reaction wasn't because of the hurt he should have felt because they had kept the secret from him, it was of anger from knowing he could have  had a chance of beating Zoom with this new drug. Though I didn't agree with the fact that our team was continuing to keep secrets from one another, I also knew that Caitlin had to have had her reason for not sharing this with us.  "This could've helped me take down Zoom. It could have helped me save Earth-2 Joe, save Jay."

"Jay was sick. The drug that he took to regain his speed was also causing cellular degeneration. It was killing him. I tried to help, I tried to find a cure, but in all my experiments, the effects were just temporary." Caitlin explained to us as she set a hand on the glass case that held Jay's helmet. "The V-9 is deadly."

"Why not tell me this? Why keep me in the dark? 

"Caitlin." Cisco began to say as he placed a hand on Caitlin's shoulder, but he trailed off as a distant look can across his eyes.

"Are you okay? Did you vibe?" Barry began to ask before a being sound came from the computer. As always Cisco rushed over to see that could have possibly set off the alarm before he looked up at us.

"Meta-human. Yeah, social media app for the win. Bad Flash is back." Cisco stated, and Barry didn't waste a second a s he sped out of the room. We all took our usual seats around the monitors as Cisco released as sigh of disappointment. "Bad Flash what? No. I'm losing my touch over here."
