Surprise- chapter 26

I'm 16 weeks pregnant.   The twins each are measure about 12cm which is the size of two avocados. They now weigh about 0.2lb each. Their unique fingerprints have almost finished forming, and their fingernails are growing. They may even have started sucking the thumb of their preferred hand. The doctor said that in a few weeks we will find out whether were having two boys, two girls, or one of each. Matt and I are so excited. We just can't wait. The twins bodies are now growing faster than their heads. Their skin is covered with thick, downy hair. That will usually disappear before the birth, although some babies are born with it. Their legs are getting longer, and all their joints and limbs can move. Their skeletons are still soft at this stage, mostly made from rubbery cartilage that is slowly hardening. Their chests move up and down to mimic breathing. But rather than air, they're taking in amniotic fluid. My uterus and pelvic walls are stretching as your babies grow, and my sides have been hurting a little bit. I know in the end everything is all worth. It's a little miracle for us. Two babies and this whole pregnancy. I am more than happy.

We have been on a couple calls today. I'm feeling good. Matt smiled " how are you doing momma?" I laughed " momma..." He put his hand on my belly " you are a momma! ooh..." I laughed " a kick... that's what you get..." Matt smiled and kissed me  " I'm gonna go do paperwork... come and join me.." I laughed " I'm going to go restock the ambo... i'll be in.. in a little bit!" 

Matt left. I just wanted to walk back and forth for a minute. I just need to walk when these two were kicking around in there. 

It was only me out here. I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around " oh my god! what are you doing here..?"
