Severide's POV
I've known Gabby and Matt for a long time. We've been good friends for years. I'ma always there for them and there always there for me. We've been through a lot. It's nice to say we have each others backs. They are probably one of the most successful relationships I saw develop in front of my own eyes. I'm happy they are married. If anyone deserves happiness I would for sure say it's them.
I got a call " hello..." Matt spoke " hey Severide... can you tell Chief that Gabby and I are going to be late to shift..." I was concerned " yeah... what's going on.." Casey was being secretive " were stuck at med..." I wondered " is everything ok..." Matt said " yeah.... Gabby and I are just in the ER... and they want to admit her..." I was really concerned now like what is this " Casey... what's going on?" He was still quiet " between us..." I nodded " sure..." He told me the truth " Gabby is pregnant and she was having some pain so they just want to keep her here to make sure everything's ok..." It was ok " ok man... do you need anything?" He was sure " no were good for now... please don't tell anyone... were just not ready to come clean with the news... and we just want it to be us at the hospital..." I understood " yeah... of course... i'll tell Chief. let me know how things are.." Casey hung up " I will..."
Boden came through " where's Casey and Dawson...." I looked at him " they are stuck at med..." Boden looked at me " what happened?" I shrugged " Casey didn't say much... he just said they want to have their privacy at the hospital.." Boden looked at me " ok Hermann your acting Lieutenant and i'll call in Rafferty..."
