We had this small gathering for Mills. His visit was a surprise to all of us. It was nice though. Two years seemed longer than it actually was. A lot had changed. New people joined our family and came into our lives. Matt and I are married and pregnant. Were in a lot better place and were super happy for all of it. A few years ago maybe I could have been with Mills. I'm happy for how things turned out and I wouldn't change that or want it any other way.
He walked into Molly's. Everyone yelled " surprise!" Mills looked at us all " we already had a going away party once..." Hermann laughed " well this is a see you.. later party!" Severide asked " so do you miss it... coming tow work with us?!" He looked at us " yeah I do miss it but what I have with my sister and mom... that buisness is amazing. I love it just as much..." Severide laughed " well if you ever want to tackle along on truck... you know where to go.."
Hermann looked at me " do you want anything..?" I smiled " a water is good..." He looked at me " you got it.." Mills looked at me " so what happened with being a firefighter...?" I looked at him " well I did it... I am one. I was one for a year but we went through a lot and I just decided that being a paramedic would be the best for us... and I love working with Brett you know..?" He smiled " of course..."
Things started to wind down. Mills hugged me " hey you take care of yourself and the babies. maybe when they are born and you got a handle of things you could visit me.." Matt laughed " we might have to take you up on that..!" It was nice to have this time.
