Chapter 8: Why Me?

Gabe POV:

I seriously did NOT know what to do..I mean I never really got nose bleeds before. I did, then I can't remember. And the best thing about this is that I'm in a canoe. Yay. My hands were still covering my nose. I really don't want to see any more blood. I can still feel it gushing outta my nose right now. victor was STILL passed out, Jake was trying to find fish in the water, and the weird dude who doesn't talk was still sitting there, staring... that guy creeps me out.

I sat there for like a minute then looked out for Teddy. I just remembered she was canoeing too. All of a sudden, I see a canoe with Ivy coming closer and closer to us. Her canoe stops right next to mine, then she asked, "What happened over here?" I decided to be sarcastic and said, "Clearly everything's great over here!" "Gabe, c'mon, you can do better than that." she said. "Whatever, my nose is bleeding, Victor passed out, and Jake is.." I looked behind me at jake. "Jake's being....Jake." I finally explained.

Teddy POV:

"What the heck is Ivy doing with my brother?" I asked as soon as I spotted them. "I dunno." Vonnie said, picking at her fingernails. Two younger girls from Gabe's class were also in my canoe. I got tired of staring and not knowing what's happening. "Come on, let's go there. I told the girls while Vonnie just grunted and said, "Ugh, this stinks."

I come closer to the two boats. I'm finally able to make out what they were saying. "Gabe, just let go." Ivy said. Gabe shook his head then Ivy grabbed his arms and tried moving them. He wouldn't budge. I see Victor up, trying not to look at Ivy and Gabe while talking to Jake.Then there was this creepy guy with jet black hair staring intently at me then at Gabe. "You're just gonna make everything worse, mister." Ivy said when she finally gave up. Gabe raised his eyebrow and said nothing. Then the two of them finally caught sight at me. "What's wrong here?" I asked. "He has a nose bleed." Ivy said. "Alright, c'mon. I pushed my brother's canoe near the shore. Then I got outta mine and told him to get outta his."If the teacher asks where we are just tell her there was an emergency so we got out." I told Ivy. She nodded then continued paddling her canoe.

Afterwards, I was helping Gabe take off his life jacket and put his paddle away. I looked at him. He moved his hands from his nose...but after seeing them, he quickly put them back. He looked worried. Then I tuned to him and asked, "How'd this happen?" "I played a small prank on Victor then he accidentally hit me in the face with his paddle." he said. I sighed then gave him a tissue and he started wiping his nose and hands...which were covered in blood. He sat on a rock and kept the tissue. I saw it was quickly filling up with blood. I sat next to him and took out another tissue. He removed the other one and attempted to take the other one... but I didn't let him "You know you're supposed to squeeze the top of your nose for it to stop." He took the tissue and did what I told him to. He never spoke a word.

After, I said "Remember to call back PJ."

"Yeah.... thanks" he said.

Gabe POV:

Dinner was over and it was time to go to bed. A lot of the other guys were calling their parents, so I decided to call PJ like Teddy told me to.

The phone started ringing then he picked up.

"Hey." he said. "Dude, what's wrong.... what'd you wanna tell me?" I asked. He went on about how Lauren visited yesterday and got mad at me.... "But...didnt you tell her anything?" I asked, shocked. "I tried, but she just didn't listen. You landed yourself a Drama Queen, bro." he tried to lighten everything up. When I didn't answer for a moment, he said "Look, Gabe please don't be mad at me. I tried my best. I didn't kn-" I cut him off. "I'm not mad..." I said. "Really!? I was afraid you would." PJ said. "Nah. It's just...Lauren. I made a mistake dating one of the Dabney's" I lied. My brother laughed at my last comment. "So, how's everything going?" He asked. "Its alright. The bugs are just annoying... and Victor." I said. "Victor? oh Teddy's friend! Yeah, I know." he said. I smiled. It was great talking to him... I know it's just been a day or two, but I miss him. All of a sudden, the teacher said, "Lights out." I didn't wanna get off. I sighed then said, "Hey, gotta go now. Talk later." "Ok, bye. You sure the bugs aren't bugging you? Mom's asking." as he said that, I came face to face with a stupid mosquito. I shooed it away. "No. Bye." I said. "Bye."

That stupid bug was still there....i decided to kill it. There was blood when I killed it..ugh it reminded me of today.
