Chapter 7: Not Gonna Be Good

Gabe POV

I woke up to the noises of the other guys in the cabin. "Why are you up so early?" I asked. I checked my phone then said, "its 7:30 in the morning!" "Dude, we're supposed to get up this early, no one wants to miss the morning activities!" jake said. "Since when are you so excited about that stuff?" I asked him. "I heard there's food involved sometimes!" he replied then walked outta the cabin.

All of a sudden, my phone started ringing. I checked it and it was PJ. I was about to answer that, but then I realized I was the only one in the cabin. The other guys must've went to the bathrooms. I decided to ignore the call, I'll call him back later... In the meanwhile, I got my things and followed the others.

I walked into the bathroom and was speechless. This place is so gross... The first thing I saw was a giant mosquito thingy on each of the windows...oh and did I mention... those bugs were dead. I gulped at the sight of that. Adding to the, problem, were millions of mosquitoes swarming around, well everywhere. Boy, I wish dad was here....I'm not saying he'd do a good job, but at least something would be done.

I think I just got 10 more mosquito bites...dang it. I was busy itching myself when the other classes came along and the room got much more noisier. I hadn't even noticed Teddy snuck up on me. "Gosh!" I said hastily. "What's wrong with you? Already sick of this place?" "What!? N-" she cut me off. "Its ok. So am I. I was attacked my mosquitoes this morning." she said then sighed. "So was I." I showed her my arms and legs which were pretty much covered up in bites. "I think they're gonna start breakfast now, go." I tried to push her away. "Wait, I gotta ask you something, did PJ call you?" she asked. "Um yeah. But I didn't answer." I said. "What!? Why?! He said he needed to tell you something. I'm guessing it was quite important." Teddy said a bit louder. "Do you know what was it?" I asked. "Well, no." she said. I paused for a while, thinking what to say. "Look, I'll call him sometime today." I finally said. Teddy smiled and left.

I then looked at my table and saw a huge box of normal cereal...Yes finally some real food. I finished it pretty quickly and took seconds. I was really hungry. After I completely finished, I went to the bulletin board near the front of the lunchroom and checked our schedule.

10:30am Canoeing Practice

Huh, I never went canoeing before. This would be fun...

AT CANOEING PRACTICE:

I was set up in a team of 4 with Teddy's friend Victor, Jake, some dude I don't know the name of and me. We were each given a paddle and a life jacket then we got to step foot in the canoe. I have to say it was kinda wobbly at first...Victor and Jake thought they were gonna fall. I can't blame them. I even thought that for a second...

As soon as we got the hang of controlling the canoe, we started racing other teams. Since my team was losing, I decided to kick it up a notch...curse Victor for choosing to be in the front. "Hey Victor, I think there's a shark chasing us!" I said. "What!?" he screamed. At the same time his paddle smacked me in the face.

"Ow! What was that for!?" I yelled. I found myself clinging to my nose. I let go then found my hands covered in blood. My eyes widened at the sight while Victor passed out, Jake started yelling things like 'eew' and 'gross' and that random guy just sat there eating a mint like nothing happened at all.
