Chapter 20: Stress

Teddy POV:

It's been an hour since we left Pizza Hut. We'll be reaching the school in a couple of minutes.

Words can't describe how wonderful I'm feeling right now just to get back home.

I feel like I've been away from here for ages.

"Alright kids! We're home!!!" a teacher screamed out, super excitedly.

Everyone jumped out of their seats and headed for the door.

We all had much energy in us even though it was 1:00am.

I quickly got out my cellphone and texted PJ. I hope he's still awake.

PJ POV:

I just awoke by the sudden beeping of my phone.

I got up lazily and checked it.

It was her.

Teddy texted.

"THEY ARE HERE!!!" I yelled out, unknowingly.

Mom and Dad ran to the living room where I started getting ready to pick them up from the school.

"Bye guys!" I said to Mom and Dad who were crying tears of joy.

I hopped into my car and hit the gas pedal.

I was minding my business on the road.

I'm feeling like I'm on cloud 9. All I could think of was seeing my brother and sister.

Out of nowhere, a car came out of the opposite lane and runs right into mine.

Talk about bad timing.

I had a mini heart attack and hit the breaks.

I at least was OK. The car hit from the right side so I wasn't injured.

I look at the guy in the other car, and our eyes met. I'm hoping he could see the hate and anger in my eyes.

He then got out of his car and ran.

I get out of my car and look in the direction he was running.

But, I couldn't see him for very long since he was wearing all black.

"Hey!" I yelled out, angrily.

He was long gone.

I sighed and went to the side of my car where it got hit.

"Uhhh..." I mumbled when I saw the damages.

I called 9-1-1 (Something I should've done a while ago) and told them about the hit and run.

I then called Teddy and told her everything.

Afterwards I called home and asked if Dad could pick them up.

He said he'll "Try".

Gabe POV:

"Why, why at this moment?" I asked repeatedly.

"Gabe, shut up. Stop asking me questions!" she snapped back, rudely.

I don't blame her. We're the last ones left at school, waiting.

The teacher had to stay until we left and she at least opened the school so we wouldn't be out in the chilly, summer night.

We're both very stressed and worried.

"Teddy-"

"Leave me alone." she said, walking away from me.

"Doing that won't help, you know." I said.

"I don't care." she replied.

This is a strange twist. Usually I'm the one who doesn't care about things and she's the strong leader who's always bringing out the bright side of a situation.

I sighed and didn't speak a word. I guessed that'll get her more flustered.

Just gotta believe and hope for the best.

PJ won't let us down.

I'm sure he'll find out a way to turn this around.
