Chapter 11: Love

Teddy POV

I has just finished walking to Gabe's cabin. I knocked on the door, no one answered. Then, I slowly opened the door and crept in. Then I saw my little brother on his bed with his head in his pillow. "Gabe?" I said. He got up and I saw that his eyes were watery and red from crying. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked. I sat down on his bed and he then told me everything. From how he can't take this stupid camp on anymore and how he misses home. He's just a bit homesick.

"Alright, c'mon." I said getting off the bed. "Where are we going." Gabe said, getting up as well. "I think there's some camp emergency place somewhere. It's near the beach area." I explained. He furrowed his eyebrows. "I'm fine." he said, trying to be convincing. "No you're not." I flatly said. "Come." I said leading him out the door.

We walked into the...emergency place...I didn't really know what to call it. There was hardly anyone there. Then, with the blink of an eye, a nurse takes Gabe in and comes out the next second. "It's just a minor allergy. It will, take some time to return to normal." She then gave me a tube of mosquito cream. Wow. That was it. Gabe didn't talk through the whole thing. I guess all of this is new to him. He's never got bitten up this bad before in Denver. Actually, he never went camping before either.

Well, everything in there was officially finished, so him and I walked outta the...place.

PJ: POV

"PJ, when is Teddy coming back?" Charlie asked. Dad was at work and Mom was just having a break, so I had to look after Charlie and Toby for a while. "She'll be back by Friday." I told her. She nodded then went back to reading, well trying to read her picture book. I was watching the Gurgles and Toby was sitting there, focusing on the TV. He seemed to enjoy it, I guess. The Gurgle circle and Square just finished singing some song. Toby started to laugh. I smiled, he's too adorable.

Teddy POV

We were just walking down the wooden steps, when I noticed Gabe was just staring down at the ground. "Hey, bro, you ok?" I asked him. He shook his head, tears filling up his eyes and his blank expression turned sad. We stopped walking and I immediately hugged him. He really needed one. I felt so bad for him. He's never been like this before. I also hate seeing Gabe cry. I've always thought of him as a warrior. One who fought through, who battles, darkness and pain...but when he cries... it's like he lost that battle. I feel the world isn't right when my little brother, Gabe Duncan, cries.

I could feel him whimpering in my arms, and my shoulder becoming wet from his tears. I stroked his short, brown hair, hoping he would stop. He then whispered, "Thanks, Teddy. I love you." My heart softened much more, I feel like it was melting. Gabe's never said that to me before, ever. "I love you too, bro." I whispered back. I could feel a small tear escaping from my eye as well.

After a while, his crying died down a bit, so I let go of him. He then realized we were in public and started to wipe his eyes and returned back to normal. "No one talks bout this." he said flatly with a smirk spreading across his face. That's my brother who I will always love.
