Chapter 13: Home

Gabe POV:

I was sitting on my bed, playing with my phone while Teddy was busy watching me. I felt kinda intimidated but I didn't say anything. "You know you have to leave before the rest of the guys in my class come, right?" I confirmed. She nodded.. "Man, I haven't spoken to anyone in the family for days... did you?" she asked out of the blues. "Um, no the only person I spoke to was-" "-PJ" we both said at the same time. "So, you didn't hear anything from Mom or Dad, I'm guessing." I said, ignoring us both saying our older brother's name at the same time. "Not a thing." she said softly. I exited my game on my phone and returned to the home screen. "Why don't we FaceTime them, then?" she said, looking at the FaceTime app on my phone. "Now?" I said, unenthusiastically. "Yeah, why not?" she said. "OK. Only on one condition. We don't tell ANY of them what happened a while ago. And don't give any hints saying that I'm not enjoying this place or else I won't get to see the world for a while." I said. She raised an eyebrow, then finally understood what I said. I'm sure mom would ground me if she finds out about...whatever happened. And she'll just have to say that she was right, even though....she actually was. I can't believe I just admitted that. "Fine." she agreed.

I pressed the button to FaceTime PJ. Then, surprisingly he picked up. His face popped up on the screen and no words were coming outta my mouth. "Gabe?" he said. I raised my eyebrows and didn't say anything back, because I didn't know what to say. My mind just went blank. Just by hearing his voice I remember what had happened when Lauren visited the house when I wasn't there and apparently got angry with me for not telling her where I was going. And now, according to PJ, we're done. I gulped and tried to get rid of the thought. Teddy finally said something then PJ said "Hey." back to her. Alright now my brain was up and running again. "Hey, PJ." I finally said. "So how's everything going at home?" Teddy asked him. "Eh, it's alright here. Everyone really misses you guys." he said. "I bet they miss Teddy more..." I said, trying to make a joke. Teddy slightly punched me on my arm. "Aww, nah. They miss you more. Teddy's too boring, dull, bossy..." He said, trying to assure me and make a joke outta Teddy. "Shut up! Let go of it would ya!?" she exclaimed, smirking. Those two have such a playful relationship. I mean, they hardly get mad at each other nowadays. I guess it's cause they're older.

PJ POV:

It was so great finally actually talking and seeing both of them after a while. I turned and called Mom and Dad. They both have missed Teddy...and Gabe a lot. I just realized Charlie and Toby were in the living room as well, so I turned my phone to them. "Say hi to your brother and sister!" I said. Charlie looked up from her drawing and yelled, super loudly, "Hello Teddy!!!" "Hi Charlie!" Teddy replied back to her. Gabe came back on the screen and Toby said, in his adorable baby voice, "Heyo!" He's been learning how to talk recently. Gabe smiled and said, "Hey Toby!" I think Toby was the only sibling Gabe really liked.

All of a sudden, Mom and Dad came rushing into the room. Mom looked like she was about to burst out with tears of joy. "Teddy dear! I haven't seen you in ages!" she said over exaggerating. "Mom, it's only been...2 days." Teddy said, laughing a bit. Gabe returned once more to the screen. I guess Teddy took his phone away from him. "Look, Gabe's here!" Dad said. "Why wouldn't I be here, it's MY cabin!" Gabe said, forcing a laugh. I could tell he was annoyed a bit. Well, he's Gabe so he finds everything a bit annoying at some point. Mom and Dad then started a whole lineup of questions for Gabe. But the funny thing is he kept on saying "Everything's fine." no matter what they told him. I know Gabe, he's hiding something and he looks nervous.

Mom and Dad said their good-byes and returned to their housework. "So, what's wrong?" I asked Gabe with a smirk spreading across my face. Him and Teddy exchanged a look. "Whaat?! Nothing happened!? This guy!" Gabe said. I could totally tell he's lying. "Dude, what happened to you?" I asked. "I'm not in the mood right now..." he said, squinting his eyes. "Fine." I said with a tone of sass in my voice. "Gabe, I hear kids..." Teddy said looking alarmed. "What!? Look PJ, we gotta go now." Gabe said. I had no idea what was going on. "What-" I started off. "Can't talk now, need to leave." Teddy rushed off and waved good bye to me and Gabe. Then a wave of kids started coming through the door. "Bye." he said and I waved back. And the FaceTime was over. Can't wait till they come back home...
