Chapter 30: Tropical Paradise

PJ POV:

"PJ, hurry up with that!" Gabe grumbled. I was the one lugging our 49-pound suitcase full of video games through the whole airport.

And on top of that, I had my own suitcase to handle.

Our flight just landed and I can feel the sweat trickling down my forehead already. I stopped walking and unbuttoned the first few buttons of my plaid shirt.

I was now way behind my parents and siblings. I had no choice but to run through the airport, dodging many different passengers and workers in the process.

All of a sudden, I tripped on my shoelace and fell face-first on the ground.

Teddy turned back, just moments away from me and started giggling at my clumsiness.

Mom, Dad, Gabe, Toby and Charlie noticed as well.

Teddy came and helped me up and Gabe called for one of those weird suitcase carts.

"Alright, PJ you ok?" Mom asked. I nodded and we hurried off to the airport's exit.

Mom hailed for a taxi and we got one in just seconds.

What a great way to start a vacation.

---------------------------------------

"Bob, this is your idea of a fancy hotel?" Mom questioned.

We were standing outside Dad's new Bob's Bugs Begone office. So far, we weren't pleased.

It was a brick building with a fairly moderate size. The words BOB'S BUGS BEGONE embossed in huge letters across the top.

There were simple glass doors in front.

"I still have to put up some signs and posters to attract customers." Dad said.

He took out some keys and opened the front door.

I wasn't amazed at all.

There were plain, white walls and only one desk near the front.

I saw a narrow hallway and a bunch if doors on each wall.

Gabe, Charlie and I rushed and opened each of the rooms. "I call this one!" Gabe exclaimed, smiling.

I walked over to him and surely enough, the room he claimed was gigantic. It was double the space in our old room.

"No fair, I want the big one!" Charlie said.

"Kids, hush up. This room's for Dad and I." Mom blurted out, ruining everyone's excitement.

"PJ, Gabe...you two are sharing this room." Dad led us to the room next to theirs. It was about the same size as ours in Denver and it had the same perk: A TV.

Gabe's eyes lit up as he saw that. "Ok, I know I'm not getting homesick on this trip."

"Bob are you sure about that?" Mom questioned.

"What do you mean? It's perfect for them! I don't want these two complaining throughout the whole vacation. So we might as well give them some freedom." Dad explained.

She looked at us. "Fine."

Gabe rushed off into our room and unzipped his suitcases.

"Hey, Dad. Does this place have WiFi?" Teddy asked quietly.

"Sure does. Let me work that out for you." Dad offered.

Teddy handed him her laptop.

"You want to video chat Spencer?" he asked, grinning.

"No, Dad. I'm gonna video chat Ivy." she simply replied.
