Chapter 17: Last Morning

Teddy POV:

We just came back from the overnight trip. It's breakfast time now, so I'm going there. I'm right now back in my cabin and then I saw Vonnie walk in.

She was on her phone.

I peeked over her phone and saw she was texting someone.

That someone, was Spencer. I saw the name bolded on the screen with her messages. Next to his name were little red hearts.

How cliché...

I attempted to talk to her, but she just kept staring down at the screen and walked straight past me.

"Fine, be that way!" I softly grumbled. "I'm sorry, what?" Vonnie said, finally noticing me. "Um. Nothing." I mumbled.

She grunted then continued texting away.

The Camp Director then came into our room without knocking. Sheesh. I haven't seen that guy since the first day when he screamed at Gabe. I hated him ever since.

"Hello girls." he said, standing straight like a military officer. No one said a word. We just looked up and stared at him.

"The polite response is, hello Director Robbie!" he said, angrily. We never spoke a word. I looked around the cabin and most people were staring at him with scared faces. Some people just didn't care.

I decided to be one of those people. But, he saw me and instantly screamed, "Miss! What do you think you're doing!?" "Um, I don't know." I responded, idiotically.

"Well if you don't know, don't do it!" he yelled a bit louder this time. This guy needs anger management classes.

I nodded, innocently and put my phone down. Before I turned it off, I saw that there was a missed call, from Spencer.

I don't have the heart to talk to him anymore. I just have to find a way to get through it tonight.

Our teacher stepped up and asked, "So what brought you here in the first place, Director Robbie?" "Oh, right. Well since it's your last morning here, you have to pack up all your things before y'all leave and also clean up this room." he explained.

"And if you wish, the souvenir shop is near the boys' cabins. Het something if you wish to make memories." he said without a smile on his face.

We nodded, showing we understood and he walked out abruptly.

"Aww!" Vonnie squealed out loud. "Vonnie, put that phone down and pack your things up." out teacher calmly said.

"But, what if my boyfriend calls? Or texts?" she whined. "What!?" I said unknowingly.

Spencer's.... Vonnie's......

BOYFRIEND

No those two can't date. They can't be serious. This is not happening. I don't want them to date.

"What? You got a problem, Duncan? You're just jealous aren't you?" she snapped back.

My face turned red and everyone was staring at us.

"Girls. Stop it." our teacher said.

I swore to never speak a word to her ever again.

Ivy came up to me and said, "T, what's the matter?" "Ivy, it's...nothing." I said quietly, trying to hold back tears.

I wanted to cry ever since I found out Beau was leaving. I tried to stay strong, but I couldn't. This is too much for me. I can't take it anymore.

"T?" she asked again.

"Ivy..." I immediately hugged her and started sobbing softly. I didn't want the others, or most importantly, Vonnie, to hear me.

I told my best friend all about what happened.

"You're jealous, T." was all she had to say.

I thought of it for a moment. Maybe I am jealous. I just didn't wanna admit it. Maybe I'm jealous that Vonnie has Spencer now. But why should I?

It's not that I love him anymore.

Wait.... do I? Do I still love Spencer Walsh? I can't.

I don't want to.....

My life's just a big mess.

Well, my love life.

PJ POV:

"Hey, Mom." I greeted. She didn't answer. She just continued chopping up vegetables. Then, she stopped abruptly.

"PJ. I have something to tell you." she started.

"Ok, what's wrong?" I asked. "I'm going back to work." she said, flatly.

"Wait, what?" I said, astonished. I thought Mom was never to return back to her old job.

"PJ, I know it's gonna be hard, but we need the money. We can work through it." she assured.

"Mom, I don't know..." she cut me off.

"Honey, it'll be fine, OK! I made my decision. I'm going back to work." she said, clearly not caring about what I had to say about the situation.

I didn't say a word. I just stared at her with annoyance. Mom can get annoying at times...well, most of the time.

"Oh my God, I have to tell Bob this! I'm going back to work!!!" she repeated.

I didn't know why the woman was so happy about this. She'd be working with Karen again.

"Mom-" again, I didn't get a chance to finish my sentence.

"Not now, PJ. Hmm... I know! I'll start tomorrow. The sooner I get there, the larger the paycheque would be!!" she exclaimed. She then ran upstairs without paying any attention to me.

Teddy POV:

I was contemplating about what Ivy had said to me in the cabin. How I might be a little jealous. Now, we were boarding the bus to go home.

God, I can't wait to be back in my house. I can't wait to be back in the place I call 'home'.

But, I have to face Spencer, and see Beau for the last time.

That's a real letdown.

I stepped up on the gigantic coach bus that brought us here, and found my seat next to Ivy. I sat there with a big sigh, still thinking of what's yet to come when I get home.

I won't have time to relax, just straight off with Spencer and Beau.

I took a deep breath and looked out the window.

Why does it have to be my last day here?
