44: we're telling them, right now
this is the longest chapter i've ever written and it kind of sucks, im so sorry
Whenever I woke up, I felt completely refreshed and I was grateful. The last couple of days I had felt extremely exhausted and not well. I turned onto my side and saw Luke laying peacefully beside me. I smiled over at him as I stretched, and thought about cuddling closer to him and falling back to sleep, but I decided against it. I needed to get up and do something instead of staying in bed. Luke would probably wake up soon anyway.
I got out of bed and continued to stretch as I stood up and walked to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth before deciding on what to do. I walked back out of the bathroom and decided to start tidying up the room. Luke and I weren't very messy, but the room definitely wasn't spotless.
I saw a couple of beer bottles in the corner of the room, on a small table and furrowed my eyebrows, but figured I just hadn't noticed them the other night. I'm sure some of the boys just came in and left them there without thinking.
In the middle of cleaning, I heard some movement come from the bed. I looked over my shoulder to see that Luke had turned in his sleep. He now had a pillow under his arm and I watched his back muscles move as he held onto it tighter.
The fact that I was attracted to Luke's back made me feel slightly confused, but I wasn't necessarily complaining. Everything about Luke was beautiful to me, and I liked that.
Luke lifted his head suddenly in a confused state and turned his head toward me before plopping it back down on the pillows. I smiled at how cute he looked and slowly got up, making my way over to him. He brought his hands up to his eyes, and rubbed them gently as he woke up. I sat down on the edge of the bed as I watched him, and eventually he looked over at me and smiled. He reached out his arms and pulled me down beside of him, causing me to laugh. He kissed my cheek as he wrapped his arms around me and I looked at him as he breathed quietly. His eyes were closed and I was afraid he might fall asleep again, leaving me held tightly between his arms.
"Good morning," I whispered and watched as the ends of his lips curled into a smile. He buried his head into my neck and I giggled as his breath tickled my skin.
"How's my baby this morning?" Luke asked, keeping his face against my neck.
"I'm good. I feel a lot better this morning," I told him. Luke raised his head to look at me and smiled widely.
"Good, I'm glad. How long have you been up?"
"Not long," I told him, turning toward him and bringing my hands up to his cheeks. "We're going to see your family today, right?" Luke nodded slowly and I grimaced as a small amount of anxiety rushed over me.
"I think Jack is planning to pick us up at around noon." I nodded slowly and looked down at Luke's mouth as I swiped my thumb across his bottom lip. I leaned forward and kissed him gently, and he kissed back. "We don't have to tell them today, if you don't want to."
"No, we should. Don't you think?"
"Maybe." Luke sighed and I knew he didn't really want to talk about it anymore. The door to our room suddenly opened and we looked over to see Calum and Dustin in the doorway.
"Guys, it's way too early for this. Break it up." They both walked in with a coffee mug in each of their hands, and sat down on the bed with us. Luke pulled away from me and sat up in bed. I sat up as well, and took the coffee that Dustin was handing me. Calum handed Luke a cup and we all sat silently with the coffee in our hands.
