"I can't believe you actually told them," Calum said as he sat down between Luke and I, causing us to separate. "I'm proud of you, kid," he said, turning to Luke."You act like I wasn't going to tell them," Luke observed and Calum shrugged.
"Probably because I didn't think you would," Calum told him as he slowly looked over at me. "How are you? Feeling relieved?"
"Uh... I guess," I told him, thinking something about Calum was off. Luke punched Calum's shoulder and Calum whipped his head toward Luke.
"Ow, you shit," Calum said, punching Luke's shoulder back.
"You're the shit, you shit. Why don't you ever trust me to do anything? You're annoying," Luke told Calum and I sighed, resting my elbow on the arm of the couch, and setting my chin in my palm.
"Oh, shut up," Calum said, rolling his eyes. "I had every reason to think you wouldn't tell your parents." I started to become interested in these reasons, but I didn't want to be included in their argument, so I didn't ask.
"Calum, you have no reasons," Luke said, becoming more frustrated. "Can we go talk?" Luke asked and I knew the conversation was more serious than I initially thought.
"I don't want to talk," Calum said, looking away from Luke.
"What is up with you? C'mon." Luke stood up and Calum reluctantly joined him. "Sorry, Lana... we'll be right back." Luke shot Calum a glare and I watched as they walked out of the room. I wondered to myself what that could've been about, but I honestly had no clue. It made me feel strange, though, and I didn't like it.
"Hey, where'd they go?" Dustin appeared with a confused look.
"Uh, out in the hall, or something... I don't know, they were getting into an argument about something," I told Dustin as he walked up to me, a smug smile appearing on his face. "What are you so happy about?" I asked as Dustin took a seat beside of me.
"Nothing, I'm just a happy guy," Dustin said, losing the smile he had before. "They were arguing?"
"Yeah, Calum was telling Luke he had good reasons to think Luke wouldn't have told his parents about us, and then Luke got upset." Dustin sighed and I had a feeling he knew what I was referring to.
"Do you know those reasons?"
"Lana, don't worry about it," Dustin told me, and proceeded to bite his lower lip nervously. "I'm sure it's nothing."
"Dustin, I know it's something." I went back to resting my chin in my palm, and I looked around the room gloomily. Luke's mom and dad had left the room to make the food, and Jack was talking to Ben about something on the other side of the room. Dustin and Calum had gotten there an hour or two ago, but everyone had been a little quiet and distant since Luke made the announcement.
